A week ago they were saying he is a month away. First week in Feb then hopefully.
I would guess unless he's ahead of schedule, he will be back after the 4 nations thing which runs February 12th to 20th. Would make sense to give him the extra time to rehab, maybe even a Marlies start or 2 during that.

Woll is my guy for game 1 of the playoffs anyway. I do think Stolarz is a stud when he plays, but this knee issue will probably not go away.

Woll first half of the first round (back), Stolarz until halfway through the second round (knee), then Matt Murray for the cup baybee!

I don't think the knee will be an issue once he's ready to come back. A pebble/bone fragment was taken out and we assume that was the issue. If anything, he might be better if it was diagnosed and taken care of properly.

This team just can’t stay healthy.

We get 1 player back and lose another. Jake McCabe probably out a month now. Looked very similar to Tavares in the playoffs.

I saw the replay and knowing Hathaways rep I have a hard time seeing that knee at the end as incidental. Kypreos alluded to the same thing saying Hathaway has a reputation. Very unfortunate but these are the things you can’t just let slide especially with a back to back. The team needs to set a precedent that this kind of shit won’t be accepted. Honestly whether he’s good or not (Reaves) this team decided they will have a heavyweight in. Until you get someone better than Reaves, play him and let him take these fights. If he’s unwilling, waive him and bring someone else in. This team and honestly every team needs someone around to take care of this nonsense. Playing Dewar over him makes no sense, because while both provide very little offensively, Dewar provides no intimidation or forecheck either.

100% Reaves needs to play Tuesday and needs to find Hathaway. The message needs to be sent that this team is no longer taking this crap.

We can't count on the NHL to protect us.

Is there a better shut down pair in the league than Mc and Tan ?

Trading for him was one of the best things Dubas did here
He’s Dubas’ best roster addition. You could argue Knies, but we know he was going to trade him for Fleury, so hard to give him credit there lol.

Unless you factor in COST.

Leafs don't have their 1st round pick 2025 (this year) nor their 2nd round in 2026 as a result of the McCabe trade.

That price was too rich for my blood.. However time will tell if with the addition of UFA Chris Tanev a rock on the defense pairing will lead the Leafs to playoff success this year.

Without playoff success IMO a 1st and 2nd round pick for a middle pair Dman in McCabe is pretty rich.

A low 1st was/is worth it especially with retention. Wouldnt mind if they made the same deal for Connor Murphy.
