It was his words exactly pretty much had ""s and all haha not saying it's true, just something I read. And was just asking if people would actually go for him.

you really need to post a link to a source when you say something this outrageous. Im pretty sure if the Columbus GM has said he was looking to move Johanssen it would have been big news and all over the boards and media

Kessel? That was maple leafs best player and bye bye

Context?

Columbus is an underperforming team that wants to be competitive now and isn't going to trade their franchise center for the sake of a "shake up."

Toronto is a gong show that is trying to tank and wanted to move the salary (and get draft picks for) a player that wasn't going to be around by the time they actually became competitive again.

Original point still remains. Kessel wasn't moved to "shake up" the team, it was a salary and rebuilding assets move.

OK..doing a little digging says...CBJ ISlooking at all angles....but will not do something stupid for the sake of just doing something... RJoh has been stripped of the C and Torts is Torts...going off the conversation on these boards about Nealer's A... there's probably a divorce in the works. My sister just moved back from Columbus so I was a regular at away games and have a small feel for the atmosphere. That organization is dysfunctional as Hades and if anyone were going to do something stupid in another teams favor it would be them...will it happen, who knows? If it does I hope Poile is in the thick of it...way before the deadline. Torts/Johansen serious bad blood. One will leave before next season...I'm calling it now ............. On a side note time to go watch my great friend of the family hopefully beat the titans.... Bortles4Life

And that is a pure unsubstantiated rumor

added: and Johansen never had the "C" in Columbus, their captain is Foligno

With all the rumors and other things out there if any of these #1C's or potential #1C's are moved Poile has to be in on it. These pieces are never moved and when this is your biggest organizational black hole you have to be in on it. Last time we lacked the pieces and now we are looking up to the team who added Sequin. We must make the move now if any of these rumors are true.

Those were very generic quotes from the GM and there was absolutely nothing in those comments even remotely suggesting that he has said he wants to move RyJo

You also got your information from the 2nd most inaccurate website has well. I'm just telling you what I read. Pretty funny how everybody just try's to prove everybody wrong here. All I was pretty much was asking would ANY PREDS fan move on Ryan, that's all. It's okay I'll just say your right.

How about Boone Jenner? I'd pay a hefty price for that kid. Heck, I'd give up Fiala for him probably.

No way, man. If we are gonna give up Fiala it has to be for a bonafide #1C, not for a "potential" #1C. Also, Jenner is more of a grinder than a playmaker or a sniper.

Jenner is just 22. He hasn't even scratched his true potential. He's going to be closer to Backes than Crosby or Toews, but he is gonna be so good. On pace for 53 points in his second full season. Currently tied for 9th for most goals on the season.

Super Fisher, as it were. It would have to be Fiala + for Jenner + to balance it out.

Thoughts on Victor Rask?

He's a 22 year old 6'2 / 200lbs Center with playmaking and defensive skills. He's currently 5+6 in 18 games. 33pts last year, so he's on pace to break that and then some on his second full year. Contract coming to an end at the end of the season.

With question marks regarding at least Eric Staal's future, why would Carolina even consider trading Rask-if he's legitimately capable of shouldering a 1/2 center load?

I think I might just go for that. Fiala has some great potential, but for all the drama that seems to surround him, he isn't exactly putting up elite numbers (albeit in a relatively small sample) in the A. Granted, he's also still only 19. Push comes to shove, even with our depth of d-men at the NHL level, I'd rather move Fiala than Jones.

Interested in what Viqsi would say though.

The only question marks are with the team. Staal said he wants to stay in Carolina.

And it would give us a long term solution for a top line center.

Those rumors are inaccurate. What's going on is that other teams keep asking about him, but that's not the same thing. And it would cost an arm and a leg - some Jackets fans would listen to Jones plus some significant future, but personally, I'd insist on Josi coming back. :)

I think you are dead on with this one, CBJ is somewhat similar to us and have a tough time finding potent offensive talent. They are not giving away Johansen unless someone overpays a ton.

We need blueliners (especially after tonight's casualties :( ), and Boone is presently one of our top goalscorers AND our heir apparent to Dubinsky. It'd be really costly, and Fiala wouldn't be of interest - we've got plenty of good-looking winger prospects as is. I recommend looking elsewhere.

I'd tots give up ellis or jones + center prospect for the right package of Jenner + Dman

It'd be more than that. Seriously, this is a bad time to ask about the guy - he's our leading goal scorer at the moment, in the midst of what looks like a major breakout season. Folks are salivating at the prospect of a 38-19-20 line from now 'till 2020 and beyond. It's selling high - VERY high - and for a team in the position the Preds are in now, the price would be really ugly (especially if he doesn't keep up this level of play).

And it's worth noting - he's not playing C right now. His NHL ice time has been almost exclusively at LW; when we've needed another C to step in, it's been Foligno moving over, not Jenner (y'all would have seen that last night, for example). So he might not be that C this team needs to begin with.

Jenner-Johansen-Saad, for those who don't know the numbers.

To get a #1 center, David Poile is going to have to get uncomfortable and move serious assets. I'm not sure why he is willing to sacrifice substantial value at the deadline for bit players year after year, but he refuses to go all in and get a long term piece at the center position. It seems about 1-2 become available each year. The Predators name comes up, but it never happens. I guess the closest he got was Spezza, and what coup that would have been for this team ....

The @PredsNHL have claimed defenseman Petter Granberg on waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
