The Four Nations Tournament Thread

Is Team Canada itself even taking this tournament seriously? Why is Binnington starting? Why is Montembault there? How do you choose a guy who just came back from a broken ankle, and hasn't really played meaningfully since last year's playoffs?

Canada making the dumbest possible goaltending decisions they can kind of brings me back to the 90s a bit.
Only positive I can try to take from it is that we still have the best roster minus goaltending and the boys know they can't depend on Binnington they're going to have to score alot of goals. Can't wait for tomorrow's game 😎

Also - great to see Petey moving around well. I think Tocchet nailed it, and I hope this tournament just allows him to loosen up, breathe, have fun, and come back rejuvenated. I suspect a LOT of the issues he's been dealing with are between his ears (due to a combination of internal and external factors), and hopefully this lets him reset.

I really don’t see the problem with Binnington starting. Not like the other goalies are playing particularly well. Also there is something to be said for having confidence in yourself and he has it in spades.

Guys clearly the other nations were just tired of Canada winning the best on best, and we had to put a handicap on and this is it.

I remember when the debate was Roy or Lui… or who was going to be left at home Cujo or Belfour… now we have this… I think Belfour good be a better option.

Lose - Lose for EP116

If he does well it means he needs the best players in the world to put up points and is unable to do it on his own.

If he blows it means even the best players can’t help him play well.
Amazing that you can give us an insight into your cognitive bias like this, but can't actually identify it as a cognitive bias and move away from it.
