I think this iteration of the thread should be devoted to Jack Nevins.

Another loss in Nashville. It's early but it's going to get ugly soon if they don't start picking it up. I have to say I'm very surprised. I thought they'd be kicking ass.

You think Weber was brought in to score a pile of goals, and rack up points, with team Canada? lol
Does Doughty suck too, because he didn't score? Stammer only had 1 goal, he blows.

Talk about not knowing what role a player has on a team

Weber and Vlasic were paired together and had the role of shutting down the best lines of every team they faces. However, how do you explain that his partner has the most points out of all the Ds, but Weber, who was on the ice 90% of the time with Vlasic had 0? Does that me he sucked? No and that's not what I'm saying either.

I'm just saying that Weber had more time to play best vs best hockey and it usually takes a while for some players to be comfortable and start producing. Weber had the chance to have 10 more games than PK and only recently started playing well. Everyone is piling in on Subban because 'Weber has 3PPG and is a +12 and the habs are winning' vs 'Subban sucks because he's a -7 and only has 5 points in 8 games and Preds are losing'.

Once again, I was and still against the PK trade, but I am thoroughly happy that Weber is playing well and continuing to do so. You just can't say that we've won the trade right away after only 9 games into the season.

They're not scoring goals.

Johansen, Forsberg and Neal combine for 1 goal.

They'll turn it around sooner or later. Too much talent for them not to get back on top.

That's my entire point. We win, no matter what in my mind. I don't care if PK gets 55 pts, and Shea gets 40. I know if we get into the playoffs, Weber will be better for this team, than PK. I know in the regular season, he will be better for this team, since there is no sideshow act any more.

What are you basing Nashville winning this trade on? Points alone, and 3 years down the road? What is your criteria for a win?

I read today that Mike Fisher had a meeting with Nashville management to discuss the terrible chemistry in the Preds' room and how they can rectify this.

I'm sure they will just like I'm sure Weber isn't going to finish with 90 points (or whatever his pace is) but I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge that this start is not what I expected from either side. Weber is putting up points every night and Nashville can't seem to buy a win? Pretty much the opposite of what I thought would happen.

How can you say that Weber will be better in the playoffs than PK? PK has always elevated his game in the playoffs for us (remember G7 against Boston in 2014?) and has always been one of our better players as well.

Only reason why we would get an older player than Subban and who are arguably pretty much a wash currently (Subban is a more mobile D, which is where the NHL is headed and is a better ES player in the offensive zone. Weber is better in the defensive zone and historically has been better on the PP as well) is because we want to win the cup right now. Subban is just starting to be in his prime and will be able to play at an elite level for at least 4-5 years before he starts to decline, where as Weber has either already started or will start in around 1-2 years. So we would need to win the cup in 2 years for the trade to be worth it imo.

I can ask you the same thing. How would you qualify us winning this trade if you don't care if PK gets more points or will most likely play at an elite level for more years than Weber?

Is this serious or are you being sarcastic here?

What would of changed so drastically in there room for last year to this year? I can't really put my finger on it ...

When you have Ribeiro, Johansen, Neal and Subban in your dressing room and your main leader is Mike Fisher.. things aren't going to be easy.

TROUBLING NEWS REGARDING P.K. SUBBAN.

When speaking on a Montreal based radio show on 98.5FM, analysts Mario Tremblay and Mario Langlois reported that Fisher met with the Preds' front office staff in order to "return order in the locker room regarding new chemistry". They added that the meeting was regarding Subban specifically.

That didn't take long.....

Well, I'd take that with a grain of salt. It's Tremblay & Langlois.

Kinda surprising.

I taught the problem was MT! :sarcasm:

Don't believe it. Subban knows the stigma against him and he's too smart to be a distraction that early. Not to mention...it's very early.

I will say that they probably need to mix and match the pairings a bit for chemistry but other than that I can't see Subban being a problem.

Subban has always been class and always been ready to play. I doubt this is real.

You beat me to it. Here's the link I got it from.

The only thing they mention is that Fisher organized a meeting with management. They didn't specifically say it was about PK. Just mentioned it was about finding a way to fix the chemistry of the team and the locker room. They did mention that losing Weber probably hurt them on and off the ice as well.

It wasn't a segment where they blame PK for what is happening in Nashville. It was more about how losing Weber could have hurt them more than expected.

Don't know Langlois so I don't know how much you can take him at his word.

mario tremblay is definitely not bob mckenzie or elliotte freidman so i dont trust whatever he says.

Anybody know if some corsi or advanced garbage stats exist to measure dressing room drama and effects on the ice
