The Football Team formerly known as Redskins - Super Bowl 2025 or bust! [2025-26 Offseason Extravaganza Edition]

Chase Young - his story is far from done

still believe he can be a stud
He still only has a couple moves, and rushes up the field and past the spot. His football IQ is low and he doesn't know the meaning of outside contain. If he hasn't figured it out by this point, I don't think it's in the cards. He's a physical freak who will ride that to a mediocre career, until the athleticism starts to fade.

So not a serial offender. Which means it can probably be coached out.

Agreed, and so long as he's keeping JD out of concussion protocol, I'll give him one penalty a game without complaint. I'd prefer the 5-yarders, but if he needs to WWF a dude to prevent a bad blindside hit on our phenom QB that's built like a scarecrow, please feel free, Mr. Tunsil, sir.

Now that FA is mostly over. I dont really care what we do with contracts for cap space.

Draft picks are locked into their salary slots per CBA.

We should have alot of money left to make moves if any are open.

There's actually a reason you should care. I'm no longer 100% clear on the details, but converting some salary to certain kinds of bonuses that reduces the cap hit this year, can actually lead to cap savings/increase in space next year. Essentially, the more space you book this year, the more space you get next year. So it does make some sense to restructure what deals we can to save space this year and then NOT spend it on players. It helps with next year's cap room.

The Bengals just blew a ton of money. The trade price for Trey Hendrickson may have dropped.

I might rather keep the 1st rounder and not spend top of the league money on him.

4 years? is it 3.5 per season or total?

We have his old coach and I think he drafted him.

My reading says $3.5 & change total. And that's if even makes the team. If he doesn't, no harm -- if he does, it's less than a mil on a guy who might make a big play at some point.

Plus I like the idea of bringing in vet guys in camp, letting them not make the team .... but then in December if a unit is decimated w injuries, we already had an extended look into a vet off the shelf ready to step in and contribute

Vet off the shelf .. nice ring to it

That was his rookie contract in 2018. No reports yet what he signed for in DC. I expect its not much.

THe $3.5 isn't his new deal it was his rookie deal. That article is poorly written. No reports yet on what his new deal with us is.

Yeah, and now I saw that it's a 1 yr. deal -- which makes a lot more sense. Point remains -- if he doesn't make the team, there's no outlay. Zero risk.

I can see I am late to the party here

I couldn’t find it so just paid again. Anything to help support this wonky and wonderful, ragtag bunch of hockey animals.

The site is simply the pits with the ads, like it genuinely gives me anxiety.
