OT: The Football Team formerly known as Redskins - Super Bowl 2025 or bust! [2025-26 Offseason Extravaganza Edition]

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
My brother asked me a few days ago, and I said I’d probably only do it for a lower pick. This is solid value. Definitely gives opposing defenses more to think about. Let’s hope he comes in motivated and isn’t a cooked diva at this stage.

I think (OK, hope) he'll be psyched to play with the most dynamic QB he's had yet.

Deebo was hospitalized with pneumonia last year around like wk 8. The drop off in production after that is pretty evident. Still, no idea what shape he’ll be in this fall.

Besides the flexibility he’ll give KK, and his YAC ability - Deebo could be a good zone buster for Jayden.

That’s the biggest issue playing Philly’s D - they sit back in zone. If Deebo can find those soft spots underneath, it can help force some man coverage - that’s when Jayden really cooks (Terry too).

Philly are the champs for a reason and their LBs and secondary are great but their DL has been elite and that's the main disruptor.

Deebo will help but that OL still needs some upgrading.

29 years old. Prolly a window a 3-4 more productive years. Nice acquisition.
When it comes to a contract (assuming that Deebo is looking to make more than the $17 mill he's due in 2025), I don't think Wash gives him more than 2 years worth of guaranteed money. His age and style of play, I wouldn't give him a 4 year extension for $120 mill with $90 mill guaranteed. More like $55 mill guaranteed. so basically means you have him for '25 and '26 season and decide if it's worth bringing him back on a restructed dealin '27.

Are you suggesting they’ll extend him immediately?

His number is low’ish already. They don’t need to extend him immediately, and I don’t see much of a benefit until we see if he can give close to a full season of play. It’s not going to lower his cap number this year.

I mean unless AP and everyone loves the guy, and then it’s at least 3 years (with the out after 2) for a deal IMO (including this year, they tear up the existing deal).

Players who ask for a trade typically wanted a new deal from old team. No guaranteed money anymore for him.
Last thing Wash wants is a reddick situation like the jets. So if they knew that one of the reasons SF traded him was because of a contract demand they need to make sure that he’ll play for them on the current deal or if they are prepared to add more years that they know what numbers he’s looking for are and that they are comfortable with those numbers.

I mean if Wash is looking at Garrett he has 2 years left at low $20’s in real money per season. But he’s getting a new deal once traded to get him in around $30 mill per season.

They could just guarantee his last year. He’s not exactly dealing from a position of strength for contract negotiations with the injuries. I could definitely see it though. He’s a core-type player when he’s playing.

His career is a tale of 4-6TDs or 12-14 in a season…..can we get the latter?! 😁

Garrett is like two levels higher a player….he’ll be a monster for probably 5 more years.

The more I see this reporting, the more I think it's Fowler speculating, not an actual thought/quote from Howie. The phrase "would likely step in" makes it too click baity, like Fowler is just guessing what the Eagles GM may do. I doubt Roseman has actually said something like this to any reporter. Why would he leak this plan? This whole reporting smells fishy.

I read your post in Emperor Palpatine's voice.
Goood. Goooood!!!
