Engvall and Kerfoot offer a feeling of high skill possession with little touch passes and gallop-y skating and circling around the zone like it’s a Costco parking lot on a weekend.

Feels like even though our defense is a black hole of offensive contribution you see a lot of weird high risk stuff. In the second there was a shift where Sandin was going net front and then directing guys to cover here and there while he drifted to the corner and the Devils got an odd man break. What are you doing?

Then Jordie Benn is puck carrying into a crowd which leads to the 2-1 goal.

Sandin and Liljegren both made cross ice backhand stretch passes in the 1st and 2nd with Devils still in zone.

I just question why these plays are happening when they’re low percentage and have virtually no upside.

The Leafs 5 v 5 are really terrible this year. We need a 3c that can cause match up problems for other teams. I'd like to add that 3c asap because our bottom 6 isn't really a threat to score at all.

The whole team blows offensively at 5v5. 23rd in the league heading into tonight, and so far only the PP goal. It does start with Matthews, but it also shows how poorly built the team's offense is when Matthews isn't carrying them
