Because the ref who called the goal wasn't the one who saw Engvall almost hit it in. One of the others thought he directed it in.
So? Leave it as a goal and review it as needed instead of overturning a call twice?

Button does know what he's talking about. I find he gets hate because it isn't the popular opinion and he's aggressive in his appraoch. But more often than not, I do feel he speaks from truth and experience. He's often right when it comes to what approach general managers should take (how they should address different transactions or their team). He isn't always right when it comes to his assessment of players but who really is?

Button sometimes knows what he is talking about. Where he comes off bad is because he doesn't filter with any caution. "Matt Dumba is going to be the best player out of the 2012 draft" is a good example. He was knowledgeable enough to see the very top ranked guys had some real questions with their games. But then he just has to roll the dice and select his favorite. If your delivery is "prospect X is going to be this" you are committing your credibility to someone. He absolutely knows players change from age 17 to age 20 and there is huge uncertainty in their development but then he picks a horse way too often. Button is the drunk buddy you have sports talk with where he spews personal opinions as obvious fact. Once I understood that I appreciated his takes a lot more. I don't automatically follow his opinions as reliable but when he says a guy is a stud or a slug I will listen and then try to verify what he says. His delivery undermines his reliability some times.
