Not to disagree with your point about lack of respect - but you are putting too much on power rankings. They are a week to week thing. Power rankings are about who is hot right now. If they just did an overall season power ranking it would be identical to the standings. We had a loss to Buffalo in there. That probably dragged us down a bit.

It's just a formula I think. Goal diff and xGoal diff. They are probably adjusting for the wide discrepancy between the two. The actual goals are way higher than xG...so that reduces the impact of the actual goals.

Since January 1st ... the Jets record against the top 3 teams in each division is 9-1-1 and that one loss was a 3 games in 4 nights game.

Of those 5 teams all have a better last 10 games except TBL who are just slightly worse than the Jets.

I'm not saying I agree with their assessment, but we have been #1 in power rankings at some points in this season. My own solution is to mostly ignore power rankings. It is not just the lack of respect for the Jets. It is that they don't make any point very well. Right now StL should be #1.

I think there is a mountain of evidence of the lack of respect for Wpg Jets without focusing on one source's power rankings since power rankings are mostly just BS anyway.

WPG, as a small market team, is less of a media driven fan base than the other Canadian teams are. Smaller market fans are usually fans regardless of team success from season to season, where as the bigger markets live and die off the band wagon fans they can lure to spending money…TSN, and other sports networks, feed into this for viewers and ratings, which means profits.
