Nothing to add…I just thought I’d reply to this so we could all laugh at the list again.

To be fair, I didn't have us as Presidents Trophy contenders this season either... and I'm one of the more optimistic types

I think i voted for 100-105 points in thr preseason poll IIRC

This team has exceeded my expectations this year, and it's been an amazing ride

The site lost the poll during the upgrade or something but someone took a screenshot of the board's predictions:

So even 96% of the folks who read and post here and follow the Jets very closely didn't expect the team to match or exceed last year's point total. It's not much of a surprise to see the pundits picking someone else to win the Central.

The Jets had a better lineup last year (with Monahan, Dillon, Schmidt and Brossoit) and still lost the Central. Oh, and a new head coach and assostants. It wasn't disrespect...picking the Jets to win the Central or even to match last year's points total would've been a very hot take.

They also had Ehlers for more games last year. I imagine no one predicted the giant leaps in Connor/schief, Perfetti and Samberg( the Berg and Perfetti improvement is more predictable).

TSN's final power ranking for the 2024-2025 season. I'm surprised we beat Toronto. Washington fans should be equally pissed/confused with this:

That really is funny since Tampa is a .500 on the road with a 18-18-4 road and the King are below .500 on the road with a 15-19-5 so out of 39 games the Kings only won 15?
Here's a little secret for TSN if you are a below .500 on the road you are not a top 10 team heck Flames, Wild and the Blues are all above .500 on the road.

Who cares  You should be used to it by now.

The only thing I seriously hope is that the organization uses this in small doses to motivate the team even more. Like collect these, print them and hang them out around the training facilities. Show them how much disresepect they get, kindle that 5% extra of motivation from it. Embrace it and get even stronger from it.

I still don't follow the huge drop off narrative. Look at your list of players

Monahan was here for 34 games
I was concerned about Dillon
Schmidt? ......come on
And a back up......

For me the two key people to the success this year are Samberg and Arniel, maybe coaching staff in general.

Perfetti making the next step has had an impact too

Don’t know about a better lineup last season.
Monahan..meh
I wish we’d kept Dillon to play on the 3rd pairing…only one I’d have kept
Schmidt is no loss at all…addition by subtraction…wasn’t a fan and still not, we should never have acquired him in the first place
Brossoit…meh

Meh.
fans on a poll is meaningless. Pretty sure I voted the 97-101 on that poll....because I didn't want to be overly confident... and I figured a top 3 in the division would be about where the Jets finished...

what the poll does show is the MAJORITY of fans here believed the Jets were still a playoff team.
not bottom of the central struggling to make it and ripe for a rebuild. which is where almost every "expert" had us.
I'm talking about the fact that the Jets have been #1 since day 1 this year and still struggled to get national media attention or respect.
