Matthews has hit another level while carrying his own line. Very excited to see how he does in the playoffs

Look at what a difference a bit of toughness higher in the lineup makes

Matthews game feeds off his linemates and playing with Domi and Bertuzzi has him playing a tougher grinding game similar to his linemates.

When he plays with Marner he feeds off the goofy loose offensive style of Marner and he just looks less dominant, watching Mitch do much of the puck carrying

Have to agree. But this is why Reaves makes such a difference for the team. Any asshat who took a cheap shot at Matthews in those games would be dealt with severely. Florida and Tampa have those types in spades.

Domi turning into prime Nicklas Backstrom out there with Matthews.

That line is fire.

I was really lukewarm on signing him.

But he's been very good. His attributes, being a pass-first guy with lots of speed, fit Matthews better than anyone on the team, in my opinion.

Last year, Boston played Bergeron in a meaningless game in Montreal at the end of the season because it's his hometown. He got injured in that game and didn't come back until late in the series against Florida. That's why you don't play your top guys in these meaningless games. I understand that Matthews is chasing 70 goals, but if it's me I'm sitting him after Saturday's game.

Matthews, Bert and Domi looking great. Domi is a hell of a passer…….its like magic

The pass usually comes at pace and with Domi there is less dipsy doodling he is playing with confidence right now.

Nice to see Matty work harder.

This was a really dominant performance against a team that needed to win. Knies was terrific except for a few giveaways. Domi’s passing is reminiscent of Marner, who btw hasn’t looked good. It takes time to recover from a sprain but he hasn’t looked sharp.

I don't mind the idea, but they need time for him to adapt, which they do not have.

Marner may be the better option to try there right now. I mean, they had him on D earlier in the year.

It was awful. Dude just had a 2 goal game and the interviewer wanted to talk about everything else until the end. You could see it all over Bertuzzi's face. What an idiot.
