That’s like dismissing Connor McDavid because he hasn’t had an elite start to the season. Not really, I want elite CH today, not just a bit better than we have Vanecek version of CH

the Devils are missing their top 2 centers (one of whom is an MVP candidate) lol of course the lineup is gonna look bad.
Maybe think before you try to be 'funny'?
also lol @ using +/- for literally anything in 2023.
Boston fans scoff at your missing top 2 centers excuses.
...which is essentially the same thing you're doing with Meier, even though he has 10 points in 13 games.
You're all over the place. Make up your mind.
Hey at least I wasn’t far off. I definitely think something could be worked out between Boston and NJ. If Casey is somewhat off limits (I still don’t quite understand why) I would be curious to see what else NJ would offer on top of a 1st.
I don’t think the Bruins would have any interest in Holtz with Lysell in the picture.
But back to Casey, doesn’t it make sense to cash in on him with the log-jam they have at RHD? Not to mention how difficult it is for a player of his stature to defend at the highest level
Meier is on a new team, new situation, a new contract that demands performance… and he seems to be struggling with it.
This is completely different from the two Connor’s.
Ullmark has gone 71-17-4 with a .928 and a 2.15 since 2021-22. Those are better than Brodeur numbers, but apparently the Devils 3rd best young D prospect if off limits lol.
Timo Meier is on pace for like 65 points. I think most Devils fans though they were getting a 65-70 point power forward when he was acquired.
You are acting as if this dude is on pace for 30.
he is 30 years old and would need a new contract soon
my question to you is if he is such a great player, why would Boston fans consider trading him.............?

Enjoy him and his long lengthy contractThat’s like dismissing Connor McDavid because he hasn’t had an elite start to the season.
I think Ruff was looking at more things than his point projection when he benched him. I guess Ruff has more expectations for Timo than Devils fans do.
Like what I said I’m trying to figure it out. I get them being high on him…the kid definitely has potential but if you’re trying to get your hands on one of the best goalies in the league you gotta play ball.Ullmark has gone 71-17-4 with a .928 and a 2.15 since 2021-22. Ullmark for an NJ 1st and Seamus Casey
Not sure where Casey fits on the right side of the Devils defense with Nemec in the mix
Bruins have Shattenkirk for the year and Ian Mitchell in the fold but Casey would hopefully compete for a spot next year
Agreed. No better time to start that fire sale in Calgary!2 years after this at 6M, but he looks excellent. He’s been the only reason Calgary hasn’t lost every game by 6 goals most nights.
thats awful!!Ullmark for an NJ 1st and Seamus Casey

Hellebuyck oozes confidence: “My details are RIGHT!”
Hellebuyck | 23.11.13 | Winnipeg Jets
Ignore the stats boys… Hellebuyck knows his game is elite. Watch tonight’s clinic and you will be forced to agree!
Sabres are in serious trouble.Guffman Scouting Report
Schmid was just terrible. Fives goals given up with a miserable 0.833 save percentage. Frankly, those stats flattered Schmid as the Jets pinged at least three other shots past him only to be saved by the crossbar/posts.
The Devils couldn’t even shelter their bad goaltender as their team is just soft. What a train wreck.
Honestly, I had big balls posting that bulletin board material in this thread but my man backed me up despite the pressure I put on him.
From the New Jersey game thread:
“Good job holding onto mercer and holtz tom and not addressing the f***ing goaltending. great job.”
Yes, good job indeed. As you all should recall, I discussed a Hellebuyck to New Jersey trade this offseason. I brought up Mercer and you all lost your minds. Holtz was also a tough ask but you all seemed content to stick with Schmid and VV because “look at the Vegas model!!”
It didn’t work out. Repeat after me… “Guffman was right”.
BTW… for any Sabres fans lingering around and dismissing Hellebuyck because you had wunderkid Devon Levi… he got yanked tonight after giving up 5 goals with a laughable .722 save %. Jets vs Sabres this Friday… I will be sure to give a scouting report on that upcoming mess.
It’s really sad, honestly. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2010/11 season and after all these years of misery, they finally acquired a bunch of young, skilled players only for their GM to not finish the job and leave a gaping hole in their net… and Sabres fans applauded that decision this offseason.Sabres are in serious trouble.
how'd hellebuyck look last night?Wow so much better!
palat had 1g 1a -8 vs the hurricanes last playoffs. i think some citisism is fair.By that logic then Palats cosistent and elite play during the playoffs makes everything you said a load of dung.
I’ll admit I’m not as confident in “outscoring bad goaltending” as I was even with our top two centers injured. They both played well enough last year to earn our trust but obviously things aren’t going as we thought.i think it's at the point where even the nj fans that were in the deepest in denial have to admit other were right about their goaltending. the current nj duo isn't going to cut it and they missed a golden opportunity this offseason to land a great goaltender.
