That's really a pretty solid group there. Quite underrated. And that's without Zajac, who's a solid 2nd line centre.

We're gonna have to wait and see how they perform as things settle down. I don't expect Bratt and Hischier to blast the doors down right a way on a consistent basis. I'll admit they look much better than I anticipated, but rookies have a tendency to slow down as the season progresses. Assuming the Devils finish where I expect them, next year could be where the fun really begins as they add another high end piece.

We're definitely going to be more exciting, but I don't know how dangerous our top 9 is actually going to be. Without a doubt we are far faster than we were even last season as we have injected a lot more speed and skill into the lineup, but we're also relying on a lot of young guys to carry a heavy load, so that doesn't always work out great. At the very least we are going to be much tougher to play against this season and won't be the doormat we have been in years past.

Look, you have to excuse us devils fans for being excited, first time in a long while that we are actually fun to watch. While i dont expect us to make the playoffs in a tough metro (unless a few teams under perform). It will be a big improvement from years past. I am loving the play so far from the preseason and first game!!

Good foundation to build on. If they can get another good piece in the next draft while drafting well all around, Zacha, Hall, Hischier, their 2018 first rounder and the lot of depth can carry them quite well.

They turned it around rather quickly or so it seems. They used to be one of the most boring teams to watch recently, not so much anymore, fans must be excited.

No doubt game one was a marked difference compared to last year and the last few seasons. I know everyone is going to say that teams are going to shred the Avs, and that's probably true; but the past few season the Devils would not have been able to take advantage of that. They would have had to grind out a 2-1 win. This season they may actually be able to put some teams away instead of having to grind every night. They may actually score 3 plus on a relatively consistent basis. Will it carry them to the playoffs? Unlikely. Is it heading the right direction? Definitely.

There was a buzz in the arena yesterday that we haven't seen since 2012. It was actually enjoyable to watch. There were breakdowns, but they scored 4 goals, they were flying around, and for a good portion of the game were missing 2 top 6 players to injury. Even if they lose more than they win, this team is turning the corner. This is a fun team to watch.
