The Dallas Stars May Have Stolen the 2021 Draft Just Like They Stole the 2017 Draft

Been drafting well for sure.
But Robertson is over rated imo.
One big season he will never repeat.
Can you elaborate on this further? When you say he is "over rated", compared to what baseline? I didn't really make a comment on his overall standing amongst NHL Forwards, really only applied he was an excellent 2nd round pick.

He had a cyst removed July 31st and was non-weight bearing for 6 weeks, which would mean mid-September. So it’s been almost 2 months since to recover and resume training. I can understand a slow start but he should probably be up to speed by now.
He's been a full participant for only about a month. I agree it's a bit concerning if he's still not playing great two months from now, but as of right now, I think it's been understandable.

And you are right. Definitely a great 2nd rounder.
I'm probably just sour for taking him in the pool. Too many nights after the game I'm checking the game page.....then go check the box score to see if he even played?
Again last night. How does your team beat the Pens 7-1 and you have goose eggs across the board?
Cheers

A cyst?... Hardly an injury/surgery that can impact your play lol.

Production wise, it'll be hard to repeat that season, given the state of Dallas' roster now.

That season he was 1/3rd of the top line on a one-line team. Dallas had nothing else to offer that year so Robo-Hintz-Pavelski were overworked.

Now the team is insanely deep in offensive capability, so DeBoer really, truly rolls 4-lines because it gives the team the best chance to win. That, combined with Robertson's very good defensive ability, have drastically lowered his OZone start percentage.

Tl;dr He's still a very, very good player and his underlying metrics prove it. He tends to be a bit streaky, but his raw numbers are more of a representation of Dallas' system than Robertson's play.

(You're probably going to be disappointed with almost every Dallas player in fantasy as long as the Stars keep their team as deep as they currently are)

Tbh his underlying metrics are nothing spectacular so far this year. It's the PP that has been so mediocre for him where they have a 3% S% when he's on the PP. Only reason the PP isn't worse than middle of the league is because of how PP2 has performed.

Duchene marchment and stankoven leading the team in points just like we all imagined lol.

The doghouse
No but they would've won the draft later that night even if their picks would've not counted and certainly wouldn't have lost Game 7 of the draft on their home ice to a much inferior opponent.
Oh please, with Hasek announcing draft picks in the 7th round, you never know what would have happened.

When the Leafs head of amateur scouting (Wes Clark) left to follow Dubas in Pittsburgh, Toronto hired one of Dallas' top scouts (Mark Leach) to run their scouting department and drafts. Hope it pays off in future years! They've definitely been doing it right.
