The Central Is The SEC Of The NHL

It's so bizarre. People down here actually root for their rival SEC teams to win once their own has been knocked out due to this weird conference pride phenomenon. I legitimately think it's in some way due to a culturally-ingrained inferiority complex from losing the Civil War.

I don't get it either. It was really hilarious watching LSU/Alabama fans defend one another after that BCS game 3 years ago.

South Carolina is the closet SEC school to me and for the most part they seem sane, and I know some UGA/UT fans who don't root for other SEC teams. The SEC West fans though definitely take the conference pride thing a little too far.

I have no idea about this schoolboy football comparison. But I'd say the Central is the Prairie provinces of curling.
