I think he can give Getzlaf a run for his money as best Anaheim C of all time. I’m not sure where that slots him here. Getz might make the Hall of Fame but I don’t know if I’d call him a super star the way you would someone like McDavid or MacKinnon, etc.

HOF. Not joking.

His offensive toolkit is closer to Malkin than Barkov, and he thinks the two-way game as a center closer to Barkov than Malkin. He's not an instant superstar but he's getting there.
Pretty much this and since February he has been on fire with a line of 28-11-17-28 (+14+) in just 16:27 TOI and with 23 ESP.

Sure his shooting % is very high but the PPP in the future will offset some of that and we have an emerging star at Center will go H2H with Celebrini for the title of best center in Cali for a decade coming up.

I think his floor when he's fully developed is 70 point two way 1c but it's really kind of hard to imagine his production will be that limited if the Ducks run him on a line with Gauthier and Sennecke.

It's hard to gage where he ends up. The kid has been producing very consistently since the Four Nations on a very bad team, but I still think there's a lot of growth to go for him both in his game and growing into his frame. Right now he's finding his moments to create offense whether he's shooting or passing and it's been working, but he still hasn't become that 1c presence where you want the guy to be the person offensive possession is run by. The kind of presence that can tilt the game in his team's favor when he's on the ice. He's mostly been generating offense on the rush which is ironic for reasons I'll state below. But I think the real measure will be how his game can evolve once he adds more strength and muscle mass. I think he can end up a franchise level player and agree with the above that he can become better than Getzlaf ever was and I hold Getzlaf in very high regard.

But the irony is all the pre-draft knocks that Leo is and would be a subpar skater. Most Ducks fans preferred Fantilli over Leo for a few reasons but the primary one was that Fantilli was expected to be faster. Fantilli is in the 95th percentile for top skating speed this season. Leo is in the 96th percentile.

Leo's skating is so underrated. Skates so much like Malkin.

To be fair to Fantilli, he has more high speed bursts and from that you can say he has a better engine, but the idea that Anaheim would end up with a slow moving tank of a center if they took Leo over Fantilli ended up being pure nonsense.
Yeah Fantilli is more explosive like a MacKinnon, Carlsson is smoother like a Malkin.

And prime Malkin was probably the fastest puck carrier in the league.

Reminds me a ton of Malkin with the way he skates with the puck, and how he manipulates the puck around at top speed.

Malkin had a much better shot arsenal but Leo’s shot is really starting to come along, if he can develop that one-timer, watch out.

I was most critical of his shot when he was drafted but he’s really worked on his release, he’s much quicker to get his shot away now and the accuracy is improving.

Kid has 44 points in 73 games. The options go from where he is now to solid 1C.

He's not currently a solid 1C but there's a solid gap in the polls that is missing.

I'm not sure if he'll be a top 15 center in the league (how I interpret solid 1C) but I think he'll be a very good first liner. I also honestly haven't taken the time to truly pay attention to his individual game so I don't have a solid opinion on it.

Wish there was another option in the poll.

He's been a PPG player for the last 2.5 months
