With Leetch on the bench we'd be stuck with Bon Jovi in the MSG studio every night. Probably worth it to have a terrible pp to avoid that

Leetch could run the PP, he would bring back Sergei Zubov as his PP QB, he's only about 40

We certainly regressed. Remember Marc Staal was playing poorly at the start, MDZ was not that good, McD made alot of dumb moves but I love the player... Stralman had the biggest jump

I'm surprised that the Rangers have kept Sullivan on the books for now, but I don't think he'll stay. Actually, it's pretty classy of the organisation not to let the whole coaching staff go at the same time (I'm assuming Torts would get a good payoff, but I don't know about Sully).

Perhaps they're looking to replace Gernander with him? Pure speculation, of course, but he had success in his one season coaching Providence.

Interesting factoid I came across just now, while looking for Sullivan's record as head coach of the Bruins: he was originally a Rangers draft pick, though he never played here.

I can't imagine that Torts lands another coaching job for this coming season. Back to TSN for him.

FWIW, Sullivan was candidate for the HC job at his alma mater, Boston University, when Jack Parker stepped down after 40 seasons. Job went to Avs assistant David Quinn, another BU alum.

I don't think Sully moves. He seems to understand the defense role. Just sucks at anything beyond. New HC and maybe he brings his assistant with him that can work offense/pp help, I think Sully stays then.

Disagree about Staal.

Staal was having his best season to date when he got hurt, he barely played a month and a half.

Overall the defence was not the best they have been, but on an overall basis, Sully has done some great things with the guys we have on D

agreed... staal was good when he actually played. mcdonagh had a down year(albeit i don't think i'd call it a regression w/ the whole team playing that poorly). girardi had a horrible year (again, whole team played like **** and he's overrated to begin with)

He deserves to be fired more than Tortorella. A lot more IMO. This guy needs to GTFO. Wish I could not do my job (running the PP) for four years and still get paid handsomely.
