Well, everything was going along quite fine for him until a certain, very personal tragic event occurred recently. I think a little grace and slack is in order here because of that.

He put up a .950 the day after that... it started going bad in the finals when the pressure was on.

Congrats to the Hurricanes.

16-3 record in the playoffs... very impressive. It was kind of an easy path to the Cup Final, but they didn't screw around and they took care of business fast in the first three rounds. They beat a good team in the Cup Final to win the Cup. Well done.

Well the long suffering Canes fans finally have overcome that mountain.....I have to admit i am surprised but you guys looked really good through out the playoffs.....it will be interesting if they can repeat....they are not that old of a team so it is possible.....

In before People say vegas was easy, avs would have beat us, etc etc etc.

Best story of this is our amazing trash can goalie with the shutout and SV% over .900 in the final. Or 37 year old Staal Smythe. Or maybe PK Subban being wrong, yet again.....

Marner continues his big game choke job. Brutal in 5 and 6. I love it. Suck it Marner.
Vegas 5v5 stats with Marner on the ice:

0 shots for
8 shots against

0 gf
2 ga

Expected gf relative-49%

His advanced stats are also mostly the worst on his team this game. And by a large margin in many categories.

And Vegas got him for 12 million, would've cost 14+ million for the Leafs to resign him.
