Your not wrong, but you could say the same about Marchand in 4-5 years, heck even Bergeron or Rask down the road.

This is a possibility for any player with a long-term contract stretching into their mid-30s.

While this is true, my inner homer has the utmost faith that Bergeron/Marchand will age like Datsyuks. On the other hand, the downward trend for Backes, and possibly for Krejci, has already clearly begun

guessing, outside of the Devils game, you haven`t paid much attention to DK`s game. He`s been very good and this is coming from a fairly harsh critic of DK

I agree. Krejci's game has definitely been trernding up the last ten games or even more. I found it interesting that he thought Bergeron would age well, when his performance this year says otherwise. I mean, I still believe Bergeron will come around, but if you want to look at indications of decline, IN THIS SEASON, there are many more with Bergeron than there are with Krejci. (Though Krejci may not age well with two surgically repaired hips)
