Dammmn jimmy snipes played 16 min.

hopefully nobody misses any time. I wouldn’t be surprised if Snuggerud stayed in the line up. I would have guessed they’d let him watch from upstairs against the Avs to digest the game a little bit. He may be in the lineup for good depending on how things play out.
I think Snuggerud will stay in the lineup, whether or not Holloway misses The Avs' game. The Blues need his fast skating, and relatively fresh legs, and most of all, his shooting and passing skill. Also, the more ice time he gets during the few remaining regular season games, the better prepared he'll be to help The Blues in their more important playoff games (and he should play in all of those, as well). The Blues will need more scoring capability in The Playoffs. Jimmy can provide that, without being a substantial liability on defence. The amount of help he can bring in scoring should outweigh any defensive liabilities he might bring due to rookie mistakes and not being as familiar with his new linemates, teammates, and Monty's system. His minutes will also help bring some rest to his new teammates who've been playing very hard lately.

Really fun game to be at. Bad 1st notwithstanding, I still found the Blues playing dominant hockey. It looks so coordinated when they push pace.

Snuggles is not ready but I think he’s a good one. I know his shot is dangerous, but I do hope he can play the half-wall like he did early in college. He can be so Schwartz like playing the wall.

I haven’t gotten that Snuggerud isn’t ready by watching him to be honest with you. He looks like an NHLer. The only thing I see that he could benefit from is familiarity with his teammates/systems. I think he could really benefit from getting these last games under his belt. Adding him with Bolduc to the 3rd line really helps deepen our scoring ability.

I wouldn’t mind if Holloway misses a game or two if they do give him a game or two off and run one with Tex/Sunny/Joseph if Bolduc is pushed up and have that be a lower minutes line/4th line with the WTF line getting more minutes than normal. Wouldn’t be bad to let him see the game from the press box once or twice to help understand what other guys are looking for.

Love that he got as much ice time as he did tonight, that should help him acclimate a bit quicker.

Q in the house

This is something that legitimately concerns me. I don't care that he attends a game. But the youtube retrospective on his time here followed so closely by his appearance on the broadcast. It seems like they are taking the pulse on fan response to bringing him on board for something. And there were not near enough boos/downvotes for him.

He won't be a coach due to Monty thankfully, but we could offer him some front office position. Or maybe its a coincidence but I do not like it either way.

Cam Fowler's half-rink flip pass to Kyrou at the blue line was amazing. I thought we were just picking up Fowler for a veteran bridge player until younger guys could come on board. But I think guys like Suter and Fowler have to be looking at this like maybe their last crack at the post-season. The mixture of veterans, former Cup winners and young blood on this team is fascinating. Mix in some confident smart coaching and I really don't know what to expect. Then add Binnington getting into his zone.

I agree. His issues look more like things that will clear up with a couple more practices and ice time. His hockey sense, skating and shot are ready now.

I wish I had been there to boo him. Bringing him back into the organization is one of the few things that would push me away from being a fan of this organization. It is looking more and more clear that we are thinking about making him an assistant coach next year.

I don't particularly like Quenneville, but I think there should be a path for him to rehabilitate his career if he has sincere remorse for his part in what happened. I know I'll get pushback that he doesn't show remorse, but let's assume he does for a moment. If he does, I am not so sure we'd have much public indication of it. He would have been advised not to express any public responsibility, or probably no public statement at all.

If the Blues hire him, I'm going to treat it like the first Montgomery hiring and trust that they have good reason to believe he's changed. (Montgomery was a lot more sympathetic, but I suspect part of that is because it was all handled with confidentiality. In this case, that same level of confidentiality feeds suspicion and resentment.)

Just quoting this one for both of your replies.

Fowler/team makeup - I agree completely. There's a lot to like about the diversity of the group. Fowler, Suter and Faulk are vets that are hungry to win. Parayko and Schenn are guys who have been there done that. And then there's a wide group of guys that are 20-26 that are breaking into the league. I think before I viewed alot of the aging vets that we had on defense as a negative, but i'm slowing starting to understand the vision of what a good group of vets can bring. Armstrong wasn't wrong about leaving the organization in a better spot when he leaves than when he took over. The future outlook is really bright. There are a few areas we will likely need to solidify before being a perennial contender from a full market view, but there aren't many teams that can really keep up with the Blues depth right now.

In terms of Snuggerud. A lot of the issues I've seen throughout the small sample size are mainly timing with other teammattes. The one that I vividly remember was when he picked it up and brought it back out of the zone and turned around and Holloway I think it was was already flying ready to enter the zone again. I don't think he's used to playing with guys that are ready to re-enter that quickly and was likely looking for a reset. That just comes with a bit of time and familiarity. He's processed the game quickly from my viewings. Made alot of smart little area passes, and has been good about not making bad turnovers and just getting the puck deep when he didn't have options. His skating isn't elite like Kyrou's, but he has had jump in his legs and looks like an above average skater for the NHL. The shot is going to play, I don't think there's any doubting that. And his playmaking is better than expected in a small sample size. He's not slow moving the puck aside from a few select times like mentioned earlier, I think I've seen that happen twice. But I think that's more of a not being accustomed to guys that are capable of turning right back around and pushing the attack as quickly as the Blues have been able to lately.
