The Best Save of All Time?

Gotta go with the Nabby’s save against the Stars. Remember staying up for that game and couldn’t believe it when Nabby made that save. Just unreal. Thought for sure SJ would have rallied and won the series after that.

+1

-It already exists. Game 7 of Stanley Cup Finals, 6 seconds left in game 7 on Detroit home ice. Fleury with biggest save in Stanley Cup History to win the Cup.

But Fleury still sucks and is pretty much useless, always have been. Atleast that's what many people on hfboards states.

Varlamov v Crosby. That paddle save........

HM: Holtby on... Englland?

This one wasn't the dying seconds of game 7 but under 4 minutes to go. Pisani flubbed it a bit at first but gets a good wack as Cam had his leg extended and won us the cup.

That one had the most meaning, but it wasn't even the best save by Ward of that series. That goes to this gem from Game 6.

Of course, I still think this is the best save ever for the Canes, at least since they moved down from Hartford. Game 5 OT, series tied 2-2.

Canes win the game not too long after, and Weekes shuts out NJ in Game 6 1-0 to move on, starting their improbable run to the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals.

If it's not late in a 7th game with the game on the line and 90% or more luck it won't be in the running.

No one wants to see "good positioning on that one..."

Even though game 1 looked ugly on the score sheet with a box score of 5-4, Edmonton could have had 10 if it weren’t for some insane glove saves by Ward.

Skjei-Pionk, ladies and gentlemen.
...and those are our good defensemen!

Most people just have no way to fathom that he has had a career of holding up different versions of this exact display of defense. One amongst the things that make Hank the best goaltender I have seen.

As a goalie, I grew up with Richter on one channel and Brodeur and his defense on the other...i can't believe how too many people analyze goaltending...with way too much inconsideration. At least Richter had Leetch tho.

That’s a great save as far as importance, but not quality.

I always find the last ditch effort stick saves to be awesome, but there have been many of those.

A unique and awesome save actually happened last season, with Vasilevsky’s behind the back glove save.
Which one? ;)

This was from when he was in the KHL, but it's still my favorite Vasi save(s):

It's like a figure skating combo that ends in a quad. The first save is good. The second save is stupid good. The third save + the awareness not to cross over the line himself? Just absurd.
