Canada has defiantly been benefiting from americans wanting to represent canada in recent years: makar, Fantily, Celebrini… incredible for us to have such a dominate Junior hockey league in the CHL yet also poach these talented American’s …. Will be set up for much success in 2026 in Mulan

Literally none of those guys are American.

Dayne Beuker was born in Canada, raised in Canada, played his minor hockey in Canada, and is allowed to play for the NTDP just because his mom is from the States, and thus he takes a spot away from kids actually from the States. I know the rules are the rules, but that doesn't prevent me from having a sour taste about those rules and the process.

This sounds more like an issue with the NTDP, in that they accept players who don't develop in the US. If they didn't take in players who grew up in Canada or whatever, then there would be no problem.
