I am going on the record here stating that I feel this AHL superstar has the ability to play in the NHL, and I feel he should be brought to camp. What are your thoughts?

I look at has skill set and production/play and just feel he is a better PLAYER than Bozak for instance. Just to add, I hope the leafs dump a lot of players and put an end to this third line quality log jam they have found themselves in...Picks are good.

1. He is not better than Bozak. He played 4th line minutes last year.
2. AHL production is not comparable to NHL production.
3. LOL We do not have a "quality" third line log jam. We have crap that needs to find a toilet, ala Flames. ;)

He's like 34. He's been putting up this kind of production for a long, long time. He's never stuck in the NHL so what makes you think he will now? No. Just an ahler. Nothing more nothing less. Same as Kostka

Bozak isn't a bad player, just being utilized in the wrong role. That's not his fault and I'd take him over Aucoin every day of the week.

Bozak is terrible, Aucoin is so much better its not even funny. Bozak is honestly the worst NHL 1st line C going. He was gifted 75% of his point totals and I feel sorry for anyone that can't see this.

Can't fight, bails on plays, bails on the puck when in check, cowardice *see Boston apologies when confronted.

History says let someone else try.

Most of the players who tear up the AHL or European leagues in their later 20s and into their 30s tend to fail when they're given a look at the NHL level. The list is long and scary:

Jiri Dopita
Espen Knusten
Fabian Brunnstrom
Tomi Kallio
Simon Gamache
Clarke Wilm
Nathan Dempsey

And there's probably more.

If we run into injury problems and he's an option, sure, but I'd rather go with someone else ahead of him otherwise.

Probably cause he's not a first line center?

If Aucoin was "so much better" he'd be proven 2nd line center in the NHL

That's fair to say, I would just like to see him get a shot, he seems pretty solid and I just can't figure out why he can't make the transition. To your point though, there is always an exception to the "rule"

Sure, and his name is Steve Guolla.

Holy. Stop hating on Bozak.

Aucoin is NO WHERE near him.

I wonder if most people have forgotten the main reason for the hate of Bozak.

Am I the only one that remembers that Bozak and other college FAs (Hansen, Abbott, Irwin) were one of the main ways Burke tried to justify two 1sts and a 2nd for Kessel? "We can build our prospect depth from the college ranks", he said. Look how that's worked out. :shakehead

Bozak is a decent 4th liner if you want a touch of offense there, but otherwise he's a poor-man's version of Matt Stajan.

I'd still rather have him over Aucoin, though, since at least Bozak is a known commodity at the NHL level, and he brings a level of defensive responsibility to the game, as well.

This is not about Bozak and there is no hate, he just isn't very good and the sooner we get rid of garbage like that the better. This whole team needs a shake up in a bad way...I am not even suggesting Aucoin is an answer either, but worth being invited to CAMP which was stated at the beginning.

Discards for me: Bozak, Lombardi, Connolly(Or cross fingers since only 1 year), Komisarek, Franson, Brown, Steckel, Gunnarson(Not because he is not good but because you could get good picks for him), Reemer.

lol what?

lol what?

When I watch Tyler Bozak, all I see is Matt Stajan, but slightly worse. Solid defensive reliability, slightly above average skating, a bit of playmaking skill, but a horrible shot, no physicality, poor offensive vision and terrible puckhandling. Somehow Bozak just does it all worse.

Don't you think if 1 single GM in the NHL agreed with you he would be an NHLer ? What you are basically saying is you know talent better than all the professionals. He's in the A for a reason.

Thank goodness someone took the Bozak blinders off and see's him for what he really is...Burke's mission to prove a point and justify his free wallet comments during the Kessel trade.

I said a shot not let him take over 1st line duties. He played pretty solid when called upon for the Caps the other year due to injuries, better than a lot of WHAT THE LEAFS ARE PUTTING OUT THERE ON THE ICE. Or maybe we can just get some Dupuis'

didnt aucoin play at times with ovechkin and semin last season?

boy he's tiny

That's what I am thinking as well. Small guy maybe good in a pinch but what if he could surprise. I believe they used him bottom 6 as I was reading... 11 in 27 isn't "bad" for bottom six considering we have had Dupuis play 30+ with 0 points...
