You guys submitted 29 votes. Unlike the man associated with that number, I don't think Jansen Harkins was going to choke away his 10 vote lead over his nearest competitor.

Congratulations, Jansen Harkins, on becoming the first overall pick in the All-Sully draft.

Let's move on to round 2!

Gotta go with Chad here. Builds up our blueline. Guy was played about 2 rungs above what should have been his play time.

He was also played over a few young guys who likely had more potential.

Sullivan absolutely slobbered all over him every chance he got

Also have to consider what happened to the player after he left.

He was a healthy scratch/waiver player for the Rangers after being traded.

On the contrary, think about how much of a contributor Sprong (hated by Sullivan) was for several teams after being traded.

Sort of unrelated but I had this picture saved from when I asked one of those AI photo apps to combine Kenny Pickett and Jansen Harkins and I think it did a pretty good job tbh.

I'm sort of conflicted because yeah, a guy of Chad's quality spending EIGHT years in Pittsburgh and being top 20 in games played among defenseman in franchise history is insane. Just running back the same replacement level #6/#7 player for 350+ games instead of trying to improve at the margins is incredibly lazy. And if memory serves, he got contracts under both Rutherford and Hextall.

But when I think of Sullivan type players, I think of low offensive skill forwards that get by on work ethic/competitiveness, defensive responsibility and "being a team player". Basically versions of himself when he was in the league.

I feel like the prototype, the OG if you will, has to be ZAR. Maybe Sheary or Rust fit this mold too, but they've at least had stretches of their careers where they have been productive offensive players.
