There’s a Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 coming next year
Yeah I am trying to beat this before it comes out. It took me like 3 years to beat Witcher 3 because I just can’t turn down side quests. It’s like impossible for me no matter how stupid they are. Oh, you need me to find a rare flower for this old rude lady? Sure, let me put my save the world quest on hold.

To be fair, Witcher 3 had some of the best side quests of any game I’ve ever played.

Just saw this on the shelves…..

Hot take here, but I like Armored Core VI better than Elden Ring. I really enjoyed Elden Ring, but AC VI is amazing. From Soft is a treasure, hopefully getting bought doesn’t change them.

What you didn't enjoy finding the pan for the old lady in white orchard?

The entire Bloody Barron sequence was better than 99% of games that have ever existed.

Man, I got ACVI and was underwhelmed. Need to give it another try one of these days.

In other news,

I’m really tempted to play that new Infinty Nikki game…

I was too initially, it has a steep learning curve and can be frustrating as it encourages experimentation with builds while you get absolutely wrecked until you find the right one for particular enemies or how you like to play, and the story is told in a different way that is strange at first.

But I stuck with it (I put it down and came back to it 6 months later to give it another chance) and it does become really immersive. And the gameplay is just sublime. The music, art style, voice acting, and graphics are top notch.

It’s worth the time investment even though initially it comes across as a sterile game with no heart.

I fired up GTA San Andreas on my XBOX today. That game is an absolute classic. Still fun to play........those button combos!

Looks amazing, but no idea how i’d have time to play a 80 hour game anymore. Still only half way through FF Rebirth.

Yeah I'm a completionist with limited time to play. A game that's going to take 150-200 hours to complete in full, it's too much for me. I don't want to have to play for 6 months to do everything.

Not a criticism of any of the games BTW (although I've stated Rebirth has wayyy too much fluff), just my personal preference. I played through Stellar Blade this year and it was great because I could do absolutely everything in 50 hours or less. That's like a sweet spot for me. I loved Astro Bot too although that was probably too short. I look for stuff in the 30-50 hour range.

I can only go longer if it's an old school JRPG-type with lots of grinding, or if it's a series I absolutely love. Like whenever they do another Horizon game I'll gladly put 200 hours into that.

A new Virtua Fighter was the highlight since it’s been forever and I think Sega will nail it.

I hope so. It will be the first VF game that AM2 didn't head.

The VF5 remaster was headed by the Yakuza team (which is making the new one), and it's fantastic, but it basically is a just a polish job on an existing product.

Idk if anyone jumped on this last year but Palworld just had a new update to go along with the summer update. Lots of great content now. Haven’t played video games in months, I’ll be back now lol.

That all does look awesome, no doubt, but I'm a little leery of the open structure of the levels that I've read about. Doom with its pace has always been best as a corridor shooter, IMO. I don't want to be running around big open hubs, even if they are jam-packed with enemies. That's just my preference though.
