I have the remakes of Dragon Quest 1 and 2 on Switch 2 probably going to dive into those soon. Remember playing the originals on NES, were called Dragon Warrior at the time, or just in the states.
Been doing the same and came to post the same thing.replaying the god of war PS5 games because I literally only have time for great cinematic stories these days. It remains as good as I remember when first playing it.
I didn’t want to get a switch 2, but I guess I’m going to have to now.
I might actually get to experience that game now, i'm sure its completely unplayable as all N64 games are nowadays
I feel like 16 bit games have aged much better than 64I played A Link to the Past a few weeks ago, and that was 16 bit. Classics are classics.
As much as I like BoTW and ToTK, I miss the old format Zelda games.

Im not ready.
Yeah idk why they blew the Reunion title on the Crisis Core remake , would have been perfectI'm not either. I'm excited. I'm nervous.
I still think it was a missed opportunity to go with Reunion (the initial trailer "the Reunion at hand may bring joy, it may bring fear"), but I understand why they went with Revelation.
Same with the FF series switching to whatever battle system they have now instead of turn-based. I'm always surprised to see how many people really disliked turn-based combat.I played A Link to the Past a few weeks ago, and that was 16 bit. Classics are classics.

I mean yeah, for sure. But early 3D games were always at a disadvantage in terms of aging well. Companies had basically perfected the 2D format by the time 3D games out, whereas 3D games basically looked like shit 8/10 times until the late 2000s.I feel like 16 bit games have aged much better than 64
I went through the MediEval and Sly Cooper games on my PS5 fairly recently and while I enjoyed the nostalgia trip, they were definitely rough. The small stages were something I forgot about. Easy to see though how I developed such a preference for linear, single player games though going back to them. Between that and my NES and SNES, that was my golden age of gaming. Lump in the PS2 as well.I mean yeah, for sure. But early 3D games were always at a disadvantage in terms of aging well. oh yeah me and some kid in my neighborhood used to Co-op (or "co-po", as that dumbass called it) the shit out of Twisted Metal 1 and 2.I went through the MediEval and Sly Cooper games on my PS5 fairly recently and while I enjoyed the nostalgia trip, they were definitely rough. Although I will say even though they're ugly as f***, some games like Twisted Metal 2 are so much fun. Couch coop on the split screen is still awesome. My buddies and I sank literally thousands of hours into that game.
I remember walking into a Circuit City back in the day and going to the TV section. They had all these HDTVs set up, and I remember just staring at the picture because it was so crisp and clear (it really wasn't lol) it made me feel like I was watching something that was 3D.Love the talk about old 2d/3d graphics being cringe vs cool.
My brother and I got a SNES for a present when I was 6, and then at 10 the next gens came out but I felt a little too old (at like 12 lol) to get the newest fads the PS1 or Dreamcast. Then a year or two later I went to my friend's house who had just got an N64 and watched him play Mario 64 and Zelda and was amazed at the 3d immersion and the game's ability to make you feel as if you were in the world itself. It was akin to going from HD 4K to VR, it absolutely blew my mind back then.

When Oblivion came out I thought to myself that we’ve reached the apex. Graphics cannot possibly look more realistic than this:
