I guess the question was about 2026 draft, but maybe I'm wrong. For the 2026 WJC Demidov is too old though.Demidov? Is he in next year?
Demidov will lighting it up in Montreal next year and will be the Calder winner next seasonI guess the question was about 2026 draft, but maybe I'm wrong. For the 2026 WJC Demidov is too old though.
I'd say Nikishin might have quite something to say about that Calder thing though. And I wouldn't want to argue with him.Demidov will lighting it up in Montreal next year and will be the Calder winner next season![]()
To me a prospect is a drafted player already in NHL team. I don't think Russia will be playing at the 2026 works Juniors so demidov being eligible is a moot point for me So I was trying to think of which Russian rookies we will have next year. Nikishin is one. Detroit drafted a guy that the fans say will be amazing.I guess the question was about 2026 draft, but maybe I'm wrong. For the 2026 WJC Demidov is too old though.

But if we are talking draft prospects.. that's fine. My bad. How many should go in round 1 in a few weeks?
Russians in AHL is always an adventure. But those are two very promising guys as well. I do like Utah's direction!Daniil But and Dimitri Simashev are hopefully coming over for Utah next season. They’re doing okay from what I can tell in the KHL, albeit with their minutes being limited. Probably best for their development if they at least start in the AHL, but you never know and they could play their way onto the NHL team pretty quickly.
Good for you.I’m fine with it
No, none of these things are more or less important than hockey. They have nothing to do with hockey whatsoever. As the new IOC president says there’s many ongoing wars in the world and nobody gives a damn about them because they’re in the remote parts of the world. Nobody should be banned because of politics or wars.Good for you.
I think Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Canada, & Chechia don't show up to a tournament with Russia playing, under most outcomes.
IIHF is unlikely to risk that - but if they do, so be it. Some things are more important than hockey.
That is the most gutless and pathetic statement I've heard in a while. No, none of these things are more or less important than hockey. They have nothing to do with hockey whatsoever. What are you talking about? It was YOU who posted the first political comment on this thread, when you quoted that drivel Ovechkin said about the “wise leaders” Trump and Ovechkin. That is why various posters responded to you with comments like “well done not making it about politics”. So does your message mean you would like to be banned for your political posts? Please don’t close the thread, just thread ban those posting politics. Otherwise they will do it on purpose to get it closed
The Ovechkin quote was about the U.S. - Russia hockey summit, you’re the ones being triggered by the “wise leaders” bit instead of discussing the potential matchupWhat are you talking about? I see this all the time on these threads. Russian posters starting the political aspect of the discussion by moaning about the “real” reasons Russia is not allowed to play (or other stuff that is clearly political), and then complaining about people “making it about politics” when others react to these political posts by Russians.
A bit of self awareness would do some of the Russian posters no harm.
