Chairs. It was laughable! Zegras is better at hockey for sure! Were they using stools?

Just for you :This thread is like herpes. You forget it exists and then once a year it flames up again
I suspect they could easily get a late 1st for him in this draft. No way the Habs are getting a late 1st for Mailloux.
I thought he pulled the offer when Demidov was still available at 5And Hage was still available and Hughes pulled the offer. If Hughes still wanted Zegras he would be here.
22 years old, 33 points in 63 games, 6 points in 11 playoffs games, for an offensive defenseman, who's clueless defensively... I'm sure we will get a 1st for him.I suspect they could easily get a late 1st for him in this draft.
It's a weak draft. He is A RD. A late 1st isn't worth much. Someone would take a chance especially if they have more than one 1st.22 years old, 33 points in 63 games, 6 points in 11 playoffs games, for an offensive defenseman, who's clueless defensively... I'm sure we will get a 1st for him.![]()
He is lazy. He arrived at the camp last season way out of shape...slow like a turtle..even Hughed said it. He eas in rehab but took it easy for monthsDach was far from soft in passed years. He came back from a serious injury. When you are maybe one injury from the league, it must get to your head at one point
bust quadfectaDach, Laine, Newhook and Zegras.
That would be quite the rebuild.
He’s the hockey dictionary definition of one dimensional and his production isn’t anywhere near where it needs to be to make up for it. Ontop, his character was questioned at one point, he has an injury history, and his contract situation is also a problem. Jonathan Drouin was way less of a red flag when we aquired him then Zegras is now and we saw how that went. No thank you.I hope we do land him.
I'd bet on him resuming his spot as one of the top 3-5 forwards from that draft. No one is catching Hughes (unless injuries derail him), but Z will be right back in the mix with Boldly & Caufield by the end of next year if he can stay healthy.

Love you as a poster. Disagree with just about everything on this specific player.I disagree. His production has stalled/regressed the past two seasons, but that is in large part because of an intentional focus on rounding out his game and paying more attention to being a complete player. In particular, his last stretch of games this season in returning from injury showed a marked improvement in his end-to-end impact. Making this kind of shift, and embracing the "dip" that it can have on productivity, especially in an entertainment industry where casual fans and pundits with superficial perspectives on performance are quick to dismiss a player based solely on their stat line, is no easy task for a 23-24 year old... that he embraced it speaks to his commitment to being a better hockey player. The way he's fought through some difficult injuries and the fall from grace of being a poster-boy, while maintaining a strong compete level and positive, team-first attitude, runs very contrary to the "character issues" you suggest.
this end of season interview speaks to these very points;

Trevor Zegras Scoring Uncharacteristic Goals
The 2024-25 season had been another year of disappointing production and injury trouble for Anaheim Ducks star forward Trevor Zegras. He had just 10 points (4-6=10) in 24 games before suffering a torn meniscus that required surgery and a...thehockeynews.com
Curious what you ground your assessment of his character and his play on?
Integrating the new elements of his game takes time, but the payoff as he gets more and more comfortable will very likely be seen in a return to higher production... it's not like he lost or forgot the skill that easily made him one of the top 2-3 players from that draft class through his first few seasons. I may end up wrong, but KH & MSL know the person very well and if we bring him in it will because they share in the perspective that his character is not a concern... the talent, well that's never been in question
Good chance Mailloux traded along with one of our picks for a centerNo way the Habs are getting a late 1st for Mailloux.

Dach physically was bigger and stronger than most in junior and had it fairly easy and did not have to put much effort to produce. Work ethic and drive is what separates the likes of Crosby, Marchand, McDavid from guys like Dach or Daigle. A rebuilding team like Chicago would not have traded a 21 years old 6’4” 215 pounds3rd overall center 3 years after being drafted if he was a winner. He is lazy. He arrived at the camp last season way out of shape...slow like a turtle..even Hughed said it. He eas in rehab but took it easy for months
Small players have way more caracter and heart for the most part cause people did not believed in them for a big chunk of their career and they to prove something since they are young
Sometimes for big players everthing is so easy
If Dach was 5.11 no f way that he would have been drafted 3rd overall..no way
I would have had all 4 in my keeper league if I hadn't lost the lottery. And the only one i would consider trading is Hughes (if I could get a player near his value that wasn't a glass body).I hope we do land him.
I'd bet on him resuming his spot as one of the top 3-5 forwards from that draft. No one is catching Hughes (unless injuries derail him), but Z will be right back in the mix with Boldly & Caufield by the end of next year if he can stay healthy.
Yes - moreso given his head coach would be his former MidFairfield youth hockey coach & his GM would be his spring & summer youth elite coachWould you trade Mailloux for Zegras? One for one
They didn't get mauled. They got cheapshotted which was not preventable as the refs kissed Cap ass. They were beaten because they only had one line who could hit the ocean with a shot.We do not need another soft winger. We need the opposite; playoff hockey is not for the weak, and despite our best efforts to overcome that, we got mauled against the Capitals.
Good chance Mailloux traded along with one of our picks for a center
