The All Encompassing Diaz Thread

If I had to pick 1 player to go, it would be Diaz.

I think im gona be a little harsh on this but, I mean first he makes that dumb pass which ended Eller's run, and that sparked a whole lot of verbal wars that resulted in a very physical play that indirectly led to the injuries of countless other canadiens. and he tipped that puck in during game 4 OT, like if you're not gona block it then DONT BLOCK BUDAJ'S VIEW!!

I thought he played good before his injury, and never really got back to that level. So I doubt the team gives up on him yet. Problem is he'll need a bigger, meaner, version of Gorges on his pairing next year and unfortunately I don't see it happening.

You mean the guy that was arguably our best D other than Subban until his injury? Let's trade him!! ....

i dont get it...i think this is a bit of an over exaggeration

before his injury diaz was great and after the whole eller incident i wasnt expecting much from him

hes great to have on the second wave of the pp and is pretty good 5 on 5

the only issue i have is that the coaches use him way to much on the PK

he will be back next year, he is the least of our problems

I think he's fine. First playoff, came back from a concussion. He and Gorges are a decent 2nd pairing.

Right. Let's not take any examples from the other team that made us look like fools.

If we can't see the weaknesses of this team after this series....:help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:

Sure, I mean we should base all our summer decisions over 1 series in which we had no breaks at all. Let's trade everyone!!

I'd trade one or two of Diaz/Markov/Gorges. Our D played at an unacceptable level in terms of D zone presence and those 3 were a big part of it.

He can't stay people. No matter what you think of him...we need to get bigger on D. We have Tinordi, Emelin and Subban. Diaz CAN'T stay. Trade him.

Diaz, Markov, Gorges, Bouillon... :help::help::help:

I'd give Gorges the boot, but he's unmovable.

Markov is going to retire here.

Bouillon is a small cap hit and whatever, he brings vet... good 7th.

We don't have room for the Diaz's and the Weber's.

I like Diaz, but I think we need a big, physical shut down player more than 3 puck moving defencemen, especially since we have Nathan B on his way.

I don't hate the guy, he's a good hockey player but he's not what we need. Hopefully he's replaced.

Yes, he should have a roster spot next year. He was great up until his concussion.

And why did a Rangers mod vote in this poll?

I have to agree with this. Diaz should be traded... but he is too valuable an asset to not get something of similar value back

Gorges Subban

Markov Emelin

Tinordi Diaz

isn't such a pushover back end... as soon as one of the big guys go down, there could be a problem.

I wouldn't replace 5'11 Diaz for a 6'2 225 pound drewiske for example. The habs need a quality big guy coming back

The Habs have to get bigger on the back end. They can't continue to play with smallish players on D. I'm not sure how long it will take for getting bigger finally sinks into the GM's head. Hopefully this playoff round will make the management team rethink the size of the D corp.

Good thing you are in no position to make any decision lol, no team can have 6 Subbans. You need depth players, and all those you just named are EXCELLENT depth players. I would add a number 3-4 guy, like Hamrlik was for us back in the days, but I would keep all the players you just mentionned, and our D would be great.

Agreed. Flyers have only Timmonen as a guy who can generate points off the blueline but have plenty of big guys. My suggestion is offer Diaz for Grossman or Coburn, both only 28, at least 6 foot 4, 220lbs and they clear the crease and hit, both signed for 3 more years. Coburn can skate well while Grossman is really good on the PK. Coburn would be harder to get I think.
