Day 1 is complete.

I find myself in the lead after the first day thanks to my fellow countrymen blowing out the Austrians 11-0. @Captain Dave Poulin and @CutOnDime97 are close behind sharing second place right now. The upset from Czechia/Czech Republic put a general damper on point totals in the pool as many Canadians went scoreless from day 1.
Please have a look to make sure that I've not missed any points.

Something did happen with the goaltender scoring system that I was wondering if it would. What if the backup comes in and posts a shutout after the starter stunk up the place, should they get credited with the shut out? This happened in quite unlikely circumstances yesterday for Canada. It doesn't sit right with me so I did not credit my goaltender pick Milic with any points.
Any thoughts on how to handle this?

In the NHL to get credited with a shutout you need to play the full game (regulation/any ot) and give up no goals* so I think you made the right call.

* If you give up no goals but lose in a shootout it is still a shutout.

That Bedard kid is alright. @PALE PWNR trails by 3 after some solid contributions from the Slovakian D-men. @Captain Dave Poulin rounds of the podium. But us in the pack are not far behind. Swedens disappointing outing against Germany hampered many of us (except for @BigToe who gets the shutout for Lindbom).

That's a wrap on this years pool. Thank you all for participating!

Congratulations to @CutOnDime97 Cruise control from start to finish.
The final day saw @BigToe snatch a second-place finish after the bronze medal game where both countries decided to not only say "defence optional" but "defence not wanted".
@pit rounds of the podium in third place. My coin flip pick Thomas Milic could've had an impact if roles were reveresed.

Commiserations to the rest of us - there's always next year.
