Rocket Richard needs more love. Was the league's all time points and goals producer and an absolute monster in the playoffs. Doug Harvey not getting near enough respect here too. 2nd best blueliner beyond Orr.

Patrick Roy in my opinion is overrated.

Just so hard for me to tell on the older guard since I never seen them play. Just have to go on reputation.

I get how some might think Roy is overrated. But he really wasn’t. Take a look at his gp and save % year to year. That’s insane. Who the heck plays 60 gp + for the last 9 consecutive seasons and post those save %. H factoring his playoff workload as well, Roy played a lot and Ullmark can’t even play half a season lol

I got’em all right…
There was a small trap there…if you thought you‘d pick the best goal scorer and didn‘t choose Bobby Hull with his 1018 goals.

Just like picking McD, the modern days Marcel Dionne….
I mean, it‘s obvious… M (arcel) D (ionne)…McD….and the same amount of Cups.

Roy played behind the best defensive teams of the 80s. He played on powerhouses in the 90s. And as much as he had some great runs, he was inconsistent in the playoffs.

I don't get how Ken Dryden gets dismissed because of his teams while Roy does not. And Dryden was consistently great in the postseason.

I think Roy was a great all time goalie. But he's not a top ten player of all time. When he was good he was amazing. His Conn Smythes were all well earned. But he also had horrible runs as well.

Richard, Harvey, Hasek, Hull, OV, Beliveau, OV, Crosby... I'd have them all ahead of Roy.

1. Crosby
2. Roy
3. Beliveau
4. Jagr
5. Ovechkin
6. Hasek
7. Bourque
8. Hull
9. McDavid

McDavid might already be higher, unsure. Pretty confident he'll finish #1 in this grouping, but being a bit conservative due to only half a career played so far.
