Seeing as my top two actors of the 21st century would be Juliette Binoche and Mads Mikkelsen, neither of whom are ranked at all, I wouldn't regard this list as anything more than something dreamed up by a bunch of guys standing around an office water cooler with nothing better to do.

The "feels to obvious" was from the article, not from me. I too was expecting DDL, which would have felt more like "the consensus", but my point remains.

These kinds of lists are hard to take seriously. More of a popularity contest than anything. Emma Stone is the world's greatest actress, seriously? Is this because she's made some highbrow movies with Lanthimos?

There are so many great actors and actresses working mostly on stage and on television who put her to shame.

I think one of the greatest actresses working today is Monica Dolan. She takes my breath away every time. But she works almost exclusively in television. just watch anything with her, her range is incredible.

I chuckled at this line re: Emma Stone

At 36, Stone is one of the youngest actors on this list, but the pathos and mirth she invests in her roles suggests a long and rich life lived.

I don't know why this had to be a ranking. Would have worked great as "Profiling 60 of the Best Actors of the 21st Century" or something. I guess ranking it invites discussion by people arguing positions in the list, but it just makes the whole thing feel a little dumber trying to rank these. I'm not sure what criteria they're even using here.
