Round 1 is a shining example of why 12 teams is too many and why there should be no more expansion. I expect Arizona State and Boise State to get destroyed next.
I don’t mind it, March madness is similar and again gives those teams in the top 4 more of an advantage.
Too many garbage teams in the playoffs. Indiana should not have been in the playoffs once the QB was hurt. Miami would have given teams more trouble than half the teams in it.
Indiana’s QB wasn’t hurt I don’t think? The committee has considered QB injuries in the past, I forget who it was but they pretty much got left out because their starting QB got hurt.

I believe Indiana's QB was hurt in the last game. Didn't see the game so i didn't konw he was able to play. I believe it was Central Florida that was screwed when their QB had his knee destroyed making a stupid move running the ball. Idiot should have slid instead of trying to make a few unnecessary extra yards.

12 teams is fine. Pick the right teams.

SMU and Indiana were not ready.
Or if they wanna include these shitty teams at least have them play vs each other in the first round so we get a decent game out of them before the winner gets summarily buttraped by an actual legit team in the 2nd round

Florida State last year.

It wasn’t just the QB getting hurt though, it was how brutal the team looked with their freshman backup vs #15 Louisville in the ACC championship game. 8/21 for 55 yards 0 TD’s in a 16-6 win.

I’m also excited to see Notre Dame and Georgia just beat each other up for 4 quarters.

Current lines:
Faculty -10.5
Texas -14
Ohio State -2.5
Notre Dame -1.5

Was it just a bad year, or was it the start of a new trend? Is this going to be the new normal with the NIL stuff and the transfer portal?
I think it's a new trend. You're going to have some very rich boosters of schools want to try and see their school win games. Ole Miss last year, Texas Tech this year.

Might not effect the playoff too much (but like I said the format needs changing*) but I also don't think the portal should open until January.

Are these games better if Oregon, Texas, UGA and Penn St got the BYEs?

Notre Dame vs. Clemson.
tOSU vs. Arizona St.
Tenn vs. SMU
Indiana vs. Boise

Herbstreit is a moron though. Just cause Alabama might not have gotten blown out doesn't mean they were more deserving than SMU or Indiana. If it was up to him and ESPN they wouldn't allow the ACC, Big 12 or Go5 in at all. And Indiana still wouldn't be eligible either for not being prestigious enough. Their spot would go to 7-5 Michigan.

The fact Tennessee got blown out the way they did proves the SEC supremacy thing is bullshit, but the ACC is an endangered species though.
