It seems like the guys who get claimed are the ones no one expected. Someone might also claim Brogan Rafferty because they thought he was Sam Lafferty.

Not impossible odds that is what will happen but I'm glad Geekie is getting a shot. I don't think he is gonna be ready immediately but I'd like the surprise that he is. We need a better plan than "Let's try Cirelli and Hagel again! It's bound to work this time!"

Sergachev forced his way onto the lineup to the point that we forfeited a conditional 2nd round pick and a year of his ELC rights....all Geekie has to do is show his opportunity cost of playing here now is worth it.

They aren't sending Geekie down unless he's massively struggling to transition. They want him because they're counting on his offense since we know we lack creativity in the bottom-6. Would've just kept Goncalves or Groshev if they wanted a warm body for a couple weeks and give someone a taste while starting Geekie on the top line in the A. 22 man roster is pretty common.
