The 2024-2025 Roster Thread

If he didn't have an injury history I would agree. At this point I would prefer to build on the core we have than make a major change for someone like EP who doesn't seem to have that top speed anymore.

Reimer has shown what steady goaltending can do so if they can fix the defense by bringing in a top 4 defenseman and a forward who will drop the gloves when the time comes but still adds to the team, I would be happy with that. Greenway is that guy but is injured too often.

Right now it looks like there is a gluttony of forwards for next year so some will have to go. When Norris and Greenway are healthy along with Kozak they will have to make some decisions. I hope Kozak stays with the team next year, I really like his energy.

I don't expect much out of Adams so if we can get a top 4 veteran who can pair with Power I will be happy.

Has Greenway ever won a fight?

I wasny picking line ips. Just focusing on somr pkayers getting moved

I have a feeling they send benson yo rochester to start the season to try and get him dcoring more anf get confidencf in scoring. Other moves could trigger this

He has decent advanced stats. Remember he's only 19.
Less than 0 chance Benson is in Rochester next year

Does it matter as long as its not Tuch, Dahlin or Thompson taking a punch in the head. We already saw how that went with Cozens. I would rather have Greenway than Dahlin taking on Wilson.

It actually does matter. If your teammates get their asses kicked constantly it hurts the team confidence as a whole, you can read the body language of the benches.

Actually, it does matter. Unless someone can handle their dukes shit like this will continue. The opposition isn’t going to be afraid until there is a player or two on this roster that makes them think twice.

It isn’t even the fighting - have someone who is willing to do something truly scummy. Know that the person will do something to one of your teammates if something happens.

I’d actually prefer a grimy guy. Either or. They have absolutely nobody on the roster other teams fear. I’d kill for a Kaleta/Barnaby type.

Wasn't there rumors Adams was interested in Drury last offseason? Seems like McLeod was the right choice between the two.
Yeah, there was a RUMOR that Adams wasn't talking to Carolina about Necas but was talking to Carolina about Drury. And that maybe possibly he offered Savoie to Carolina for Drury.

I'm quite fine with what we got in McLeod.

People still bashing Power? His last 10 games has been arguably as good as Dahlin and some areas better.

Docker has some nice stats too.

This is last 10 games.

Samuelsson and Clifton are awful and thats with the team playing well the last 15 games.

If I remember correctly JBD has decently low xga against but other teams are getting a lot of shot attempts. In a small sample size, the shot attempts might be more worrisome

On Byram, he theory that he can't carry a pair seems to continue without much evidence otherwise, but can he get there?

It's a pretty odd case, and I feel like there aren't many that fit the mold so firmly like he does. He's obviously skilled, I think his IQ is hit or miss but not awful (far cry from the genius label he was given here after one PP last year), his physicality is ok.

I wonder what causes his results to be so lackluster at times. Is it just an IQ thing? Sometimes it looks like he's playing as if Dahlin is with him, even if they aren't together. Does he need to be more aware of who else is on the ice? Anyone have thoughts?

If you want dumb scummy as a forward option, go after a Eyssimont from Seattle. He loses it sometimes on the ice and would do something dirty.

Another option is Trent Frederic who will do it on some nights.

If you want pure physicality, Jeannot will be a FA

Another option is Nathan Bastian

Sam Bennett might also be a solid, if pricey, option if you're looking for a guy to get scummy.

Seeing Pacioretty in this video and later reading "scummy" as a potential preferred attribute for a future Sabre triggered this blast from the past:
