@Dahlicious made a good offerWhat is the most you would deal in a trade for Rossi? Who are you most willing to give up?

What happened to McLeod in this scenario?Ostlund will be the full time 3C next year. I would even bet on it. He will be 22 next year and I don't see him going back to the AHL. I don't see him moving up and down the lineup either because he is a center and Norris and Kulich are a lock for 1C-2C.
Of course its just my opinion but thats how I see it playing out.
While that seems fair as a framework, why on earth would the Blues trade Thomas? There is no chance they get rid of him.Thomas is exactly what we need. I'd do Ostlund + Byram/Peterka for him. It'd hurt, but to get a top line C is going to hurt. Maybe Im crazy, though haha
We would have a team of perpetual losers with a veteran perpetual loser? What happened to McLeod in this scenario?

People have discussed getting Marner; if that actually happened, wow would that change a lot of dynamics on this team, in a way I can't imagine.
I was thinking a Top 10 player who consistently reaches 70+ assists and is defensively responsible; something this team hasn't had in 30+ years. But that also works. We would have a team of perpetual losers with a veteran perpetual loser?
he wouldn't be that on this team. And without losing Norris's salary or at the very least Sammy+ its not really all that viable long term.I was thinking a Top 10 player who consistently reaches 70+ assists and is defensively responsible; something this team hasn't had in 30+ years. He's a sneaky candidate for a offer sheet (similiar to what the Blues did) imoWhy we always gotta try to run decent players out of town?
McLeod isn't a superstar but he isn't really expected to be. He's a capable 3C that can play up the lineup at times.
He's at 19-30-49 so far this season, so a 50 pt 3C that is solid defensively and 52% on faceoffs? He's only 25 years old and has played 74 out of 77 games this season....
We could, and HAVE, done far, far worse.
EDIT: Not his fault that the org has sketchy and/or young Centers on the roster.
The Blues were able to pull it off because Edmonton was in cap hell and literally couldn't match. He's a sneaky candidate for a offer sheet (similiar to what the Blues did) imo
You "might" want your 3C to be a little grittier/scummier but his wingers (Greenway/Zucker/ can provide that.
Yea but I dont think Mcleod would accept anywhere close to 2.3M a year like Dylan did - he is probably looking at closer to 5. If a team offers $5M on a two year deal, the Sabres could either match, or get a 1st and 3rd round pick depending on the team. I think the Sabres will offer Ryan 4-5 years at 4-4.5M. Is a team going to really risk a 1st and a 3rd for a guy who just had a career year, and before that was looked at like a throw in for a trade? I dont see it happening. And does Ryan take 2X5 from another team, or 4X4.5 from the Sabres? I think the latterHe's a sneaky candidate for a offer sheet (similiar to what the Blues did) imo

Sneaky trade opportunity in the offseason - Colorado for Manson. One more year left at 4.5M, they need cap help, and he is a RD who eats up defensive zone starts.
I could see him as a sneaky good low cost trade opportunity to bolster the blue line.
Unfortunately he has trade protection. Happily there are three Vegas dmen without any trade protection. Their roster is getting long in the tooth and they have Eichel to resign in a year so maybe an injection of picks and/or prospects could get something done.Sneaky trade opportunity in the offseason - Colorado for Manson. You usually have a good feel for these things ( I think you had Norris as a possibility for in a Cozens deal), so I'm hopeful (or Kesselring for ie).I'm still attached to the idea of Whitecloud to allow Vegas about 2 million in cap savings using Korczak in his place. Granted, that's been for more than a year stuck on that idea...![]()
Yep, that makes sense. I'd be willing to send Vegas a very rich offer. At the point where I really don't care about "winning" the trade. Just add players that can lead us to some kind of functional roster construction.I'm still attached to the idea of Whitecloud to allow Vegas about 2 million in cap savings using Korczak in his place. You know when you get excited and then things are taken away via a severe wake up call?12-team no trade list and has expressed a desire to stay closer to the west coast due to his wife's family - I doubt he would waive to go east to Buffalo.

That sucks when it happens…
wild will ask for more than just a winger. The only way they even consider this is if they aren't able to reach a deal or find a deal for a Top CSo something around Peterka for Rossi. Whitecloud for pick and a prospect. Go hard after Fabbro in free agency. Bridge or trade Byram.
Top 6 center added and defense revamped this off season.
Strictly speaking, a goal scoring winger with poor defense is a lot easier to find than Rossi. Maybe we can get one of Marner, Ehlers, Boeser etc.The aforementioned Peterka+Quinn for Rossi+Stramel seems close to ideal in terms of asset deployment.
You’re not crazy. Some are just being a little unrealistic in what it would take to land a 1C.Thomas is exactly what we need. I'd do Ostlund + Byram/Peterka for him. It'd hurt, but to get a top line C is going to hurt. Maybe Im crazy, though haha
