I think the idea that Dylan Cozens is going to fix himself and raise his value above what’s being talked about is hilarious and will never happen. Take it and f***ing run. Stop trying to imprint best case scenarios on disaster players. He is far more likely to lose more value continuing in this environment than raise it.

Cozens is a big disappointment, he is nowhere near as good and he doesn't have the IQ of Eichel or Reinhart, even Casey was smarter. I watched the game yesterday and didn't understand what this guy was doing.

If only we could get a great player like Pettersson for our tin soldiers.

Borgen is playing second pair minutes for the Rangers and is playing very well.

Kakko with 3+4 in 10 GP.

Sometimes a change of scenery for two players works.

I mean McLeod in the vacuum was even better than Cozens, Compher is probably as good as Cozens now. We're not talking about Cozens as a great two-way player who is very good and scores 65-70 points.

You either try to restore Cozens' game without trading him cheaply, which is reasonable. Or you trade him in a big deal where we get a better player (Pettersson, etc.).

They liked Kasper in the draft, they probably see him as an Austrian Lundell. Compher is a stopgap and an experienced guy for the room. I'm not saying it's a good deal, but maybe they think about it that way if they don't have much faith in Cozens and that he will return to his 22-23 form.

Compher has three years left at $5.1. So, we would need to feel pretty sure he can be useful for a few years.

Alright fair but the consensus was no reclamation projects we need established vets or whatever either way I don't even care anymore we will figure it out or not in fact I think we are down so bad a guy like ep wouldn't make that much of a difference and then we would be mad that we wasted multiple assets the team is incomplete we have 1 good line and a combo of mismatches 1 and a half a d pair we are missing half a team

That's not true either. I always said look for diamonds, any player can be very good in a certain situation. Fabbro, Kakko, Kovacevic, Verhaeghe and many other players over the years have become like that. Kakko was our type of player and he had a good season actually, he's a playmaker who can also help in defense, we almost don't have any of those on the team. Of course we have a very poorly composed team, but you look for players like that, especially if you don't make any other deals and you have the cap. This doesn't mean you can't trade for EP40 (if it's available at all) or someone more established.

I'm not saying don't go for it Byram and cozens are our only pieces to trade unless you want to offer Benson, kulich, tuch or helenius even then we are trying to fill in those spaces

I would easily trade any of our prospects, Power, Byram, Cozens, Peterka, Kulich, Quinn, Samuelsson and almost everyone else. I have a very short list of those I don't want to trade or who don't make much sense to trade. That doesn't mean I'm trading them all, just that they are available for the right cost and right deal. I want to cut our youth movement at least in half and add proven players and a few vets.

EP40 & Ramus Andersson would do wonders for this team is some many ways.
I mentioned this in the trade boards..... Sabres need to give the fan base and Dahlin some hope before he wants out. Fans for the most part are already gone. Andersson is the ideal RHD partner for Dahlin and Swedish. Byram and Krebs +

Next, Rickard Rakell, not just because he us Swedish, but because is might be available and of what he brings. Apparently Pittsburgh is looking to move him for youth. We have that available.

Yeah that makes sense, they're just good, proven players, besides being Swedish. Baker and Fairburn just said that, bring Dahlin some Swedish bros. Maybe Power + Cozens is too much for EP40, although Pettersson showed how to play a great two-way 1C yesterday, I think he had a very decent game against Toronto. Cozens is nowhere near that. I'd try to get some extra pieces from the Canucks then. Byram + Krebs for Andersson makes sense to me. I like Rakell too. The only thing is we'd have to add two top 4 D in two other deals or UFA, but I think it's doable, we have the assets.
