The 2024-2025 Roster Thread

Fun Fact:

In the past two seasons, (which is a 120 games span), Detroit's 82 game pace with Kane in the lineup is 79 points. It is 106 points when he is out.

He'd definitely be a solution... if they decide to embrace the tank
But hear me out:

We've tried adding tough players (lafferty, malenstyn)

We've tried adding good players (zucker)

We've tried guys that want to be here (tage, cozens, power)

So why not try a soft, bad player that doesn't want to be here?

I don’t think you can be a GM and have as crippling of cases of ADHD as these two have.

I can attest that the symptoms are made worse by concussions. So... getting paid to get punched in the head may not have been good for their long-term hyperfixation issues and executive functioning.

Concussions suck. I’ve had 8 of them in my life, and there’s times I’ve literally forgotten what I was doing as I was doing it. It’s really great in construction. Like “why did I cut this?” or “wait where is this going?”.

Been there. Sometimes in the kitchen or back when I was a homeowner and renovating a kitchen. :biglaugh:

Tage is fine. People are getting carried away with the intelligence stuff.

He's not perfect, he has gaffes like last night, but the team generally has good results with him on the ice, and we know it's not as if JJ and Tuch are carrying the iq. He gets a lot of o-zone minutes but that doesnt negate the results either

In a perfect world we get a top C and slide him down, but I don't think its necessary if we were to get a solid 2C
Agreed. He's not a wizard and makes his fair share of dumb plays, but he also makes some pretty smart plays sometimes. It's not like he's Bogosian. And his skill set is elite. I don't think Tage is our problem. Smart 1Cs don't grow on trees. The EP for Power idea is very intriguing to me, even though I think Power is being underrated.

1st line has been OK and the 4th line has been good as well but the mid six has been bad due to inexperience
The first line wasn't always right, the fourth line... questionable. Lafferty was terrible, NAK didn't do much, Malenstyn? Didn't see much difference from Robinson, who Adams added and then let go, and is thriving in Carolina. Zucker - McLeod- Greenway line seemed to work well, at least regularly scoring points. Ruff also doesn't use the fourth line much, maybe he doesn't really need these players that Adams added, Idk.

Pettersson is a guy you trade the farm for. Cozens+any prospect+1st top 5 protected

Might not get it done but keep adding until it gets done. This team needs a franchise center and Pettersson is that.

I would throw 2 1sts at him if it mean just Cozens and a prospect being traded.(I obviously wouldn't start there)

Other teams might beat that, but trading Cozens + Power/Byram would be a solid offer. I also wonder if we could also get his winger in a deal from Vancouver, who already has some chemistry with Pettersson, for example. Then it would be even easier for us to build our top 6. Also, trading for Pettersson would show a guy like Zucker that we are serious, at least for next season, about him re-signing here.

yeah, he is only 26 so you can build around him. I hope Adams has the balls to do it.

Vancouver and Buffalo are good trade partners with Buffalo having pieces that Vancouver could use.

So what’s going on with Peterka lately? He had a great start to the season. But lately not so much? I see he is on the 3rd line now?

What’s his long term upside? Point per game top 6 still?

Thanks.
