Bored, so I took a spin on puckpedia's features. There are a ton of centers and defensemen coming up as UFAs who have been kicked around as options on this board. Anyone looking to fill holes on the team could do so, if the player wants to sign and the team spends the money. More options than I thought.
There are not many RDs that could, in theory, suit us. Ekblad, Kovacevic, Fabbro. Maybe Pionk, but I think he is more of an offensive D, although he is physical.

Bennett, Granlund, Tavares and Nelson like top 6 C.

There are more wingers of course.

I'm good with moving on from 3 or 4 forwards. I'm very curious what a Power/Byram return would look like. At this point, with that shameful 13 game losing streak, I'm ready to do a major reshuffle. Whether that leads to the Sabres in the Martone/Hagens lotto, I don't know, but I'm more than ready to go full EA Sports on this retool

I am always reminded that Vegas put together a group of guys who had never played together before and went straight to the Cup Final.

If something isn't working, you change it. There should be no hesitation to move almost anybody from this roster.

I'd hold onto Tage, Dahlin, Benson, and UPL. For all I care, you could turn over the entire rest of the roster tomorrow and, frankly, it might yield a better team immediately.

Granlund is more of a winger but an ideal target for our bottom six.

My guess is something completely tone deaf like a mid pick or Krebs for Petry. KA will come out and say they identified a need to find Power a vet RHD. 3 years later

Sabres wouldn't send their top management guys for a minor trade like that I think

Watched Slapshot the other day. The owner tags a long with the team for a five second motivational speech that doesn't work (team loses). Sabres sent Pegs to Montreal to do the same thing.

No idea what they'd do for Petry (who's a bad fit).

Would be totally an Adams move.

Over the offseason all he talked about is speed speed speed ...

So makes sense he goes out and gets someone who skates in quicksand
well, it would fall into the Jost, Stillman, Robinson type moves he has made about this time of the year in the past. I wish they were still scouting Philly tbh.

They would be that simple minded.
Well, it's hard for me to say, I don't know much about this player. It's just not clear who else from Detroit they're looking at. We don't need all these overpaid vets with bad contracts. Larkin, Seider, Raymond and Edvinsson are probably unavailable. All these questionable fourth liners in Veleno and Berggren seem unnecessary. I don't know what Karmanos is looking at. Maybe they're looking at Kasper or Fischer, who knows. It seems they valued Kasper very highly in the draft.
