The situation with Byram needs to be resolved, preferably before the TDL. If he really wants to be 1D and have time on PP1, maybe even Calgary could give it to him. According to Flames fans, Andersson hasn't always gotten time on PP1 and hasn't always been good at it.
Solved:
Zucker-Benson
Thompson-Byram-Dahlin

With Kulich playing like this, I definitely don't want to trade him. Maybe he will become a good top 6 C. Benson and Kulich are two smart players, they also need to add some good vet to their line.

I know we would all like a Top 6 F but would you flip Byrum for Weeger or Anderson (Cal) for better fit for ie ?

Kreider is a wild card, I'm just worried that his game is really starting to fall off a cliff, or maybe it's the overall atmosphere in the team and the terrible Zibanejad that is affecting him. We could use a player like Kreider type, although we really need playmakers too.
The last two off the cliff forwards out there (Kakko, Laine) for ie have looked pretty good so far in new environemnts. It's all about getting your pro scouting right, intuition, having some balls, rolling the dice, and getting a little lucky. Attributes were likely great at or do not posess.

Seeing our playoff chances are down to probably around 10% and the NTC, it's probably wont be the Sabres on Kreider imo althougn I would take the chance.

Weegar. He's better at defense, he's the vet we need, their age difference isn't that big, but Weegar has already signed his very reasonable contract, and Andersson is UFA in a year and a half and I read that he'll probably be looking for an 8+M deal. We'll still have to negotiate with him so he doesn't go to UFA. No, I actually think Dahlin - Andersson would be a very solid first pair too, it just seems to me that Weegar would make more sense at this stage, although Andersson is also a very good player.

I don't like Laine because of his comments, so it's probably right that he didn't end up with us, he's a weirdo.

Yes, NTC is a problem now, but we're just talking about it theoretically and hypothetically. Drury is acting tough, he removed Trouba, although he didn't want to leave, he traded Kakko, maybe Kreider is next, especially if Drury has a long leash in front of his owner.

Kreider (ntc) was a scratch today for the NYR btw...
Rosters are frozen until the 28th now
Kreider has a 15 team No-Trade list. He isn’t an option for the Sabres in all likelihood.

He will have some options like Trouba did in blocking the trade to Columbus before accepting a trade to Anaheim.

Kreider will end up somewhere like Dallas.

Crouse and/or Maccelli would interest me. Crouse is the type of player we need in general, and Maccelli can be an underrated player, a great playmaker, I think he would look good even on Tage's wing.

I understand where you are coming from. When a kid plays well, it is tempting to focus on what the finished product will look like. I think our GM does this and it is part of why we are in the dilemma we are in. When a kid is playing well he won’t trade him because his value is high and when a kid is struggling he won’t trade him because his value is low. That’s ok. But it makes us the San Jose Sharks or Anaheim Ducks. It doesn’t make us a playoff team. Adams needs to pick a lane. Are we being patient and waiting for the kids to develop? Or are we trying to make the playoffs? His attempt to thread the needle on this has failed miserably.

I acquired Laine Kaako and Hertl so far in my own head, so I am doing pretty well. Got myself a whole second line that Adams could have got.

Kulich should be moved after this game. Show that goal clip and someone will bite. He won't be a top 6C, but he can help get us one.

We have seen multiple goals against in the past week because Benson made poor decisions with the puck, turned it over, it goes the other way, and ends up in the back of the Sabres net.

One of them was Benson trying to stickhandle through three guys as opposed to just chipping it deep and chasing it.

The funk with this team runs deep and rushing Benson to the NHL is just one example of it, IMO.
As good as he is I also feel they left some potential on the table especially on the offensive side.

Not exactly, I want to cut the number of kids in the team by about half, but we need to choose which ones. I think we need good established players and vets. Benson is not going anywhere, the rest are negotiable.

I agree. But the best ones also get the best return. It’s a tough balancing act.

The combination of an owner committed to winning and a capable GM, would get this team turned around for next year. The resources are all there.

Yes, but you need to identify the best and they are not necessarily showing themselves now. Because these are young players who will be unstable, today they played well, and tomorrow they are not visible, although this applies not only to young players.

I hope last nights game soured peoples dreams of obtaining the likes of Barzal, Pulock or Dobson.

Not what this team needs.
Were they terrible? Or do you think they could be good in their system but not in ours. They have NTC anyway and it wouldn't happen.
