Kulich and Jokiharju for Carlo, I made such an offer on the main boards and some Boston fans agreed. What Frederic will cost, Idk.

I like Frederic and Carlo for the Sabres. The challenge is finding a trade that makes sense for both teams given that Frederic is a pending UFA and Carlo has a 10 team no trade list.

Frederic is likely worth the Sabres 2nd or 3rd round pick in 2025 as a pending UFA.

If Carlo would accept a trade to Buffalo, he is going to have a lot of value. Defensive RHD like Carlo have a lot of trade value around the league. So, the Bruins asking for one of the Sabres top young forwards makes sense.

While RHD are valuable .. I don't think being right handed automatically means your best prospect is up for grabs.... especially when said rhd is not particularly gifted on the offensive side.

Marino only cost a 2nd and I think he is a better dman than Carlo.

A good offer would have to be made but I think asking for Kulich would be rather bold and frankly unreasonable

Marino is not better than Carlo and I am a big fan of Marino.

Well I think they are close, but they are similar. Adams doesn't trade for RD. There have been five RDs on the market, he hasn't sniffed any of them.
Right..close enough where the value shouldn't be that far off.. two 2nds is a far cry from Juri Kulich

Deals vary, but it clearly makes no sense for Boston to give us Carlo cheap. So there probably won't be a deal with them. The Devils signed Pesce and they just got rid of Marino. And they also added Kovacevic, who looks better than Marino and Carlo. They only paid a fourth rounder for him, damn, while our idiot wasn't doing shit.

Well obviously I don't think giving them Krebs is going to entice them but prospects like Kulich are usually reserved for impact players in top 6 and impact dman that aren't offensive black holes.

Carlo is solid but isn't what I would call impactful even on defensive side. ... Ive never seen defensive dmen garner prospects as good as Kulich.

Marino (and a 5th) cost 2 2nds.

The Utah Hockey Club acquired John Marino and a 2024 5th round pick (#153) from the New Jersey Devils for a 2024 2nd round pick (#49) and 2025 2nd round pick

And I wasn't saying Kulich for Carlo would make sense from the Sabres POV. But, asking for a guy like Kulich or Rosen or Ostlund or Wallberg for Carlo is fair value in that you are getting a solid NHL defensive RHD with team control at a reasonable number.

Carlo has been a legit top 4 RD for years, even if he hasn't been that good this season. It's just that some players are undervalued and traded for less (like Marino, three times). I don't think Boston will trade Carlo for cheap.

I like Kulich, but not enough to hold on to him like I made the mistake with Savoie. I wouldn't mind trading someone else, but for me, almost everyone on this team is available for the right deal. For example, what would a guy like Weegar cost, and he's better than Carlo and an easy first-pairing defenseman overall. Weegar would be my number one target and I'd be willing to pay.

It is really interesting how many D pairs the Bs have had this season and which ones have worked and which ones haven't.

Pettersson and Weegar are my two number one targets. They are the first layer of strengthening your core and a chance to build a proper and strong team. Then you add a second layer of 2-3 more players. These 2-3 players probably shouldn't cost a ton unlike EP40 and Weegar, but there are a lot of interesting players there, including vets.

Thompson is 27, Dahlin will be 25, Tuch is 28. and they just keep losing on this team. I think it's time to get serious team.

I cannot even imagine a world where Adams could acquire Pettersson and Weegar.

Plus, I have a feeling that if Adams called on each of them, the other GMs are asking for similar pieces in return. So, if you do one deal, it makes it almost impossible to pull off the other.

Well, it might not be Adams, but we have assets.

It's hard for me to say what Weegar will cost, but we should always have alternative options. This is just me painting an ideal picture for myself, the point is good players and for young players to develop in the right lineup, and not like we have now.

It could also be Barzal + Pulock for example, where you make a trade for a top 6 C and a top 4 RD at the same time. Of course, all of these are hard to do, but we need just have to go and take those players.

Yeah, but if both GMs want the Sabres 2025 1st, you cannot make two trades with that one asset.

Not necessarily both. Canucks could be looking for more of a hockey deal. Flames, on the other hand, I read that they are more looking to rebuild/retool.

Right and Weegar is probably what you would look at when dealing Kulich.

I think there is a considerable gap when it comes to Kulich and the other prospects .. I think any other prospect is available for a Carlo. Kulich is on a different tier.

Why is Kulich better than others? Will he be our center for us? He doesn't seem to be a playmaker.

I like him too, but all these guys should be available for trade.

Yes they should all be available for trade but not for every deal.

Idk if he will be a Center for us. Why is he better? He has proven more. He has done nothing but improve and has shown the willingness to improve. He is a scorer with an unmatched nhl shot.

Well it depends on the deal, good and proven top 4 RDs usually cost a lot, but sometimes you can get them cheaper (Marino). Or find them even cheaper as an underrated player (Kovacevic). I think finding a potential top 4 RD for a specific second pair is possible without giving up much, but for a first pair it is almost impossible.

Well I like Helenius a little more, I think he'll be a better fit for center and he's having about the same season now as Kulich in his first year. I think Kulich could be a decent top 6 wing finisher for us, but that's in the future.

Will fix everything
You are setting yourself up to be let down

At some point, someone is going to pay the piper.

The only question is: how much worse can it get? Have we hit rock bottom?

They let Krueger get to 12 games.

It'll be 12 games tonight if they lose.

They aren't firing Ruff. They can't trade a player now until the 28th.

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas Tree
I just need you out the door
Kevyn the GM no more
Make my wish come truuueeeeee
All I want for Christmas is no more yooooooouu

If you are acquiring either guy, it's either going to cost you Thompson and one of Dahlin or Power, or it's going to cost you a bunch of cap space with no salary retained as they work on resetting their cap situation.

As a team that is trying to build on top of what we have on the roster, it would feel like 1 step forward 1 step back (swapping of players), or it's going to feel like 1 step forward 3 steps back (cap space situation).
