Will fix everything
They say Adams is active and looking for a deal, Kevyn himself says so. Terry comes and says "No trades".

Logically it. makes sense though. The trade freeze is from Dec 20-27th. If he tells Kevyn no trades for the next week, he has two weeks to find a new GM. Maybe he's letting his nephew Chat GPT GM ready.

If Adams’ job was on short leash why would you allow him to make a trade?

So that’s probably good news for people that want to replace Adams.
Firing Adams is the only good news for people that want to replace Adams.

The owner saying there won’t be moves just means there will be no additions to payroll. It says nothing else until something else is done.

Do you think the players actually feel good about the owner saying it’ll work itself out? Surely they aren’t all delusional enough to think they’re actually a good team catching some bad breaks.
If I were a player wanting a chance to win a cup, I'd want off this team at first chance. If the reports are true, it's going to be a while until we're in the playoffs again. Atleast we have the Bills!

If I played for the Sabres I would almost feel worse about myself having the owner show up after a 10 game losing streak and tell the team "we believe in you!" It's embarrassing to the players being coddled in a competitive, physical game for sucking. This is how you talk to your grade school kid who sucks but you want to encourage them to keep playing. I'd rather have a normal "this is f****** trash boys" type of chewing out.

I'm sick of you, this is a pointless argument. They get in certain deals, a package deal or a change of scenery. You realize we're going to have to trade someone to turn this team around.

We need roster spots for a new guy to fill. You read what I wrote, Mitts wasn't strruggle when we traded him.

You can't wait forever for ALL your young guys to develop, I don't care, I'll trade Power and Tuch and anyone to turn this team around, they're not going anywhere with this shitty roster.

HOCKEY DEALS, NO FOR FUTURES. They traded Eichel, Reinhart and almost everyone else for futures.
Your take is "I think we need to trade our young guys at all time low values for legit good players" Like no shit. Everybody would do that if that was an actual real thing.

"We need roster spots for a new guy to fill. You read what I wrote, Mitts wasn't strruggle when we traded him."

Thanks captain obvious. That doesn't mean the same fans here didn't want Mitts traded for a mid round pick when he struggled. The same is happening with our young guys now. Just very reactionary thinking that makes our team even worse than it is.

"You can't wait forever for ALL your young guys to develop, I don't care, I'll trade Power and Tuch and anyone to turn this team around, they're not going anywhere with this shitty roster."

Newsflash. It doesn't turn the team around. It makes it worse. How many times do we have to go down this road?

"HOCKEY DEALS, NO FOR FUTURES. They traded Eichel, Reinhart and almost everyone else for futures."

THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE TRADED REINHART. That's my point. Why are we talking about trading Power or Tuch. It's like you just want to extend the drought for another 10 years.

How did we trade for ROR? We traded futures to get him. Do that. Stop getting rid of talent. Add to the talent.

Whether it's expecting a big trade to swap out some dead weight around them or wanting to play on a different team altogether, I dunno which player is looking at this situation like "I'm too much of an all star to be here with these losers, do something". They're all losers, not a single one of them have earned that mindset. Not even Dahlin. They should be looking at themselves.

Target: Rasmus Andersson, RHD (CGY)* — Julian McKenzie
(*Six-team no-trade list)

Cost: Shane Pinto, C (OTT) and a second-round pick — Mirtle

Target: MacKenzie Weegar, RHD (CGY)* — Murat Ates
(*Full no-trade clause)

Cost: Brad Lambert, C (WPG) (or equivalent) — Mirtle

I wonder what the equivalent trade packages from the Sabres would be...

Buffalo Sabres

Target: Chris Kreider, LW (NYR)* — Matthew Fairburn
(* 15-team no-trade list)

Cost: Mattias Samuelsson, LHD (BUF) — Mirtle

Reality: The Sabres are in dire need of another top-six forward. Kreider’s experience and ability to finish plays around the net would be a perfect match for what ails Buffalo’s forward group. Kreider would fit comfortably into the Sabres’ cap situation, especially if they moved Samuelsson and his $4.2 million cap hit. The Sabres have a surplus of left-shot defensemen, and Samuelsson has often been injured since signing his extension. This would be a risk worth taking if Kreider were somehow willing to come to Buffalo. — Fairburn

Weegar is my number one target for our defense. Pinto is an option to take a flyer for a potential 2C. Kreider... maybe. Although we need top 6 C more than a winger now.

Didn't Pegula say don't expect much in trades. He believes in these guys? Or you think that was a smoke screen?

I don't trust Pegula, sometimes he says one thing and does another. They simply won't have any excuses if they lose again, this is the second season they want to make the playoffs and they are clearly far from it.

Clean Hits on Substack
Hey Sabres fans. I’m sure you’re getting lots of buzzards circling. I’m one more. Sorry if this is annoying but I was listening to Chiclets and Game Notes the last couple of days and a lot was made of Buffalo lacking leadership in the physicality dept.

Lawson Crouse was usually that player for Arizona. He’s not adapted well to the move to Utah. He’s slumping big-time and could use a change of scenery, I think. He was traditionally as 20+ goal, 200+ hit, 2+ fights type of guy who always wears a letter. But he’s gone quiet since the relocation drama started. Seems to have hit him hard.

Anyways, he’s from southern Ontario and I thought he might be a good fit. Maybe a way to spark the Sabres and spark the player.

I’m just having a hard time deciding what his value could be. A year ago, it was sky high. Now? Somewhat depressed.

When I look at Buffalo’s roster the one Sabre that really stands out as a great fit for Utah is Jiri Kulich. But again, I’m really not sure if that’s a fit value-wise.

Curious about thoughts on that concept from Sabres fans. Feel free to flame me and chase me out of here if this too stupid for tact. I get that yall are likely a grumpy group and this was a risky post. :)

I was the one that proposed Peterka + 2nd for Crouse a season or two ago. And with both players sucking ass this season, that trade is still probably equal

Hello.

Crouse is interesting, he could probably be a better version of Greenway for us and could even be a top 6 player given his past seasons. Although we need a top 4 RD and a top 6 C more now, I would still like to add a player like Crouse. I would also like to ask if a guy like Kesselring is available?

The way Kulich has impressed playing Center i would decline seeing how much Cozens has struggled and the Center position is a weak point of this team.

No dice on Kesselring. He’s been immensely valuable as both of Utah’s top two RD have been injured all season long. Kesselring has been huge for us.

Thoughts on Kulich for Crouse?

Is the value close, at least?

I too pushed for Crouse last summer.

I offered Owen Power for Crouse plus whatever your pick was... think it was 4th or 5th overall.

I'm willing to trade Kulich in some deal for a top 4 RD or top 6 C, but for a winger, Idk, it's tough, although I like Crouse, but right now he won't solve our other two problems, we'll be left with Cozens as a 2C again.
