Malkin will enter the Hall of Fame as a Buffalo Sabre
Kevyn gonna pay 2008 price for Malkin.Malkin will enter the Hall of Fame as a Buffalo Sabre

It’s time for Terry to ask Putin for a favorHe seems like he would be the one guy on the Pens who would really do something for this group. Shift Cozens to RW and run Geno/Tage as a 1-2 combo in the middle.
Granted, how much of their stock of prospects and picks would it take and how do they sell it to Malkin to waive?
Putin loves his gas. It’s time for Terry to ask Putin for a favor
Gives hope.Scary.
I can act as an intermediary, but I will require my percentage in the deal. It’s time for Terry to ask Putin for a favor
We should really do a poll asking: which other team will be the one to con a desperate Adams in what ends up an all time trade robbery?
Acquiring Malkin is enticing, but I worry about the cost for someone his age. GMs do crazy shit when their backs are against the wall.He seems like he would be the one guy on the Pens who would really do something for this group. Shift Cozens to RW and run Geno/Tage as a 1-2 combo in the middle.

Acquiring Malkin would be great, also he is not UFA in the summer and still good, but I don't really believe in it. We could try to trade for Granlund, but he is UFA in the summer, although he has no trade protection.Acquiring Malkin is enticing, but I worry about the cost for someone his age. I would much rather find a top-6C who isn't going to retire in a year or two, but that's not going to be easy to find at this point in the season.
Is Dubas smart? I'm not sure about that, more appropriate would be fashionable and overrated.Find a low expectations team with a smart GM. Pittsburgh and Calgary come to mind.
Brother if you think Dubas is smart I’ve got bad newsFind a low expectations team with a smart GM. Pittsburgh and Calgary come to mind.
I just have Taylor Hall flashbacks. If Adams and Ruff can sell him on being a leader to this young team, and a focal point to the Sabres making the playoffs for the first time in well over a decade, then sure, but man, when the going gets tough- I can see him mailing it in. He's been questioned in his past regarding his work ethic.Acquiring Malkin would be great, also he is not UFA in the summer and still good, but I don't really believe in it. It's going to be hard to find a top 6 C who has a long-term deal and is a good fit for us. Maybe a guy like Zegras, but that's a wild card. Deals for Pettersson or Barzal don't seem realistic at this point. Kadri? People don't like his contract.

They are afraid that instead of trading for Eichel or Reinhart, they are trading for Risto.I don't understand why we still get low-balled so often with unfavorable trade offers for our guys. The other GMs should all be kicking themselves for not beating the offers that landed Eichel, Reinhart, RoR, etc. They should be trying to outbid each other, but instead they all collude to keep the price of the next big fish out of Buffalo depressed. And they'll be kicking themselves again.
Well, I don't think he are similar to Hall, Hall was also signed as a UFA. There is a trade here, and if Malkin doesn't want to, he simply won't go to Buffalo, and if he somehow miraculously gives up his NTC for Buffalo, then I think he will really come to play to help this team get to the playoffs. He will get the same money as in Buffalo in any other team.I just have Taylor Hall flashbacks. Because most if not all the guys on the team, are guys that you can take a shot to buy low, but aren't guys that you NEED on your team. Anybody "available" on Buffalo most likely are players that teams are already developing, or have guys that can fill the role the player might fit into. Teams will take a shot at any perceived GM that might have pressure on them to be desperate to make a move. If they can't get the deal done, then they move on. This is of course fed through the "media machine" where plenty of members of the media, and the agent world don't like Buffalo overall, and I'm sure Kevyn doesn't do himself any favors.I don't understand why we still get low-balled so often with unfavorable trade offers for our guys. We don't necessarily need a big name, we need quality. Chicago is rebuilding, we can try to pull Murphy out of there. Nashville is in a strange position. You already mentioned San Jose and Pittsburgh. Anaheim is still not ready for the playoffs and some kind of deal could happen with them too. With Philadelphia, there were always some rumors in the offseason. St. Louis is not very good now and they look more like a team that might be retooling. Maybe Calgary and Columbus could also be trade partners. The GM hunting for a big name in a trade one month into the season usually isn’t great. Trades like that happen during the offseason or at the deadline, because right now most teams don’t want to lose a great player while they are still in the playoff race.
The Pens are the only team I think you could pry a good veteran from right now (maybe the Sharks). Otherwise it would have to be a big name going the other way. Someone like Tuch or Power, not a prospect. Because the other team will need to feel like the trade improves their chances this year.
The whole thing just seems desperate, and I’m pretty sure Adams is going to do something dumb to try to save his job.
I think Connor Murphy and Mikael Granlund should both be targets for Adams. We don't necessarily need a big name, we need quality. Chicago is rebuilding, we can try to pull Murphy out of there. Trade rumblings
• League sources say the Buffalo Sabres are among the busier teams phoning around sizing up the trade market. I asked Sabres GM Kevyn Adams about that Tuesday, and he said, “I believe in this group, but at the same time I am looking into every possible way to improve our roster.”
Said one rival team executive about the Sabres: “They’re looking to do something big if they can.”
Any word if Calgary is selling? I'd love to acquire Weegar.
No word about Calgary being sellers.......but Weegar has a full NTC. So, he has total control on where to go.Any word if Calgary is selling? I'd love to acquire Weegar.
A top-4 RD and a top-6 C are the biggest needs imo.
I’m sure Rivet will only have nice things to say about the franchiseNo word about Calgary being sellers.......but Weegar has a full NTC. So, he has total control on where to go.
