Honestly Owen Power should sit in the pressbox for the next 3 games.. Everytime I see the replay of the final goal in 2nd period I want to punch more puppies.
Dude has been straight ass for the past two games. He certainly got worked over on that goal, folded like a cheap tent when it came to battling along the boards.

I was kind of annoyed when he was paired with Byram, especially after the prior game when Dahlin and Byram absolutely crushed it together. Doesn't matter who you stick him with -- when the guy is off his game, he'll drag any partner down the abyss. A game or three from the press box is certainly warranted, but the raw talent levels still make we want to let him play through this slump.

In the realm of turds from yesterday -

1. The last minute of the 2nd period featured Krebs making a junior-aged decision with the puck at the offensive blueline AND Power not even showing up for the board battle AND Luukkonen letting in a bit of a sieve goal.
2. Why is Quinn still getting opportunities on the PP when everything he is handling is a grenade, particularly the 4-on-3? How is that the coaching decision there?
3. How is it possible for Samuelsson to hurt himself AGAIN when doing almost nothing?
4. UPL and Levi never made a save when it mattered, the -2 goals against expected is a thing.
5. Levi not starting so instead Luukkonen looks tired and leaky going into the one stretch of games where they should be able to make hay in the standings.

I'm struggling to care AGAIN when hearing AGAIN that they maybe kinda didn't prepare like professionals to deal with another pro team. Don't like being boo'd, show the f*** up.
The absence of veteran leadership on the roster becomes glaringly apparent in these moments. These guys — children, really — taste a little success and invariably revert back to lazy, uninspired hockey as if their raw talent is sufficient to pullout the win.

Hopefully Lindy destroys them at practice.

You can't say Ruff isn't giving Quinn every opportunity... which i like to see.. but at some point.. you're going to have to say enough is enough.

What really gets me about the Krebs turnover is not only was it a dangerous play along the blue line, but Krebs had every opportunity to skate back and negate the 2 on 1, but chose instead to chase the puck, effectively removing himself from the play.

I'd like to see our original 4th line back together again.

Beck, Lafferty and NAK.

Bring Kulich up.. Sit Quinn. And waive Krebs.

Overall, I think the destruction of the bridge contract has done quite a bit to hurt players development. A few players are ready on the responsibility and leadership required to be paid in the top tier of the NHL. Not to mention the off ice lifestyle change of having essentially their retirement contract locked up already.

Both Cozens and now Power have struggled when their long term deal has kicked in. By essentially removing the financial incentive for them to continue to grow as a player for a few years. For some players, it doesn't matter, they just want to be better and are intrinsically self motivated. But we have to remember these are guys in their early 20s. Some simply aren't ready for what comes with a team making that major financial commitment they have.

The Samuelsson deal is another issue, though he never really had a career year then regressed. He's shown small stretches of solid play, but never really earned a 6 year deal.

My hope is that both Cozens and Power figure it out and forward. The issue is there is really no consummate professional in the room for them to model after, on or off the ice.

Easy Hoss. It's no mystery Adams and Pegula worked Levi hard after his junior year to get him to sign to Buffalo. The opportunity to grab the starting job was dangled before him, and he received the max salary, signing bonus, and performance bonuses, while burning a year off his ELC.

And while Levi might not like sitting, he sure as hell is loving that paycheck.

Like I said, I'm just surmising here because chalking this all up to Adams' incompetence might not capture the entire picture of what's going on with Levi.
Well then it's unacceptable, but then again he has no right to demand it. So the GM is need must to send him to the AHL.

Quinn has sucked every time I've watched him, on TV and in person.

Goaltender management is a thing. Levi should be getting a massive amount of games in Rochester, not odd starts.

UPL looked terrible. He's not going to be able to pull 60-65 games. The back up needs to start against teams like Montreal. That back up should've been Reimer. Really dumb choice by Adams.

He doesn't need your excuses he needs a frickin backbone.
Yes, but it doesn't always come naturally. He needs a reliable partner next to him, maybe someone experienced or not, someone he could learn from, he needs stability and reliability. He plays with Byram, then with Bryson, before that with Jokiharju. It must be in the GM's interests.

Just as an aside, Reimer is 0-2, 4.5 GA/G and .864% sv. with the lowly Ducks.

Quinn looked decent against the Flames, then reverted back to his 2024-2025 useless and incompetent self against the Habs. One step forward, two steps back with this guy. I'm with Beerz on this -- sit him for Kulich next game.

Adams rushing to lock up "his guys" to juicy long term contracts ranks near the top of his missteps as GM.

You just listed half of the dmen on the roster....fine trade for Luke Schenn to support Power. He needs more than being a first overall behemoth making more than hes worth on a long term contract. Lets keep catering to him instead of asking him to step up and play like a man. If Peyton effing Krebs can find his backbone and stick up for himself and others on the team than Power should be able to do more than wave his stick around in his own end.

For real. It's hard to root for a crew that plays spineless, especially given they're battling to gain ground in the standings. That quote made me shake my head.

And, if I'm being honest, I don't think Cozens gives 110% every game. He looks tenative to put in work in the dirty areas. I'm so glad I didnt buy his jersey 2 years ago.

Why lord?! Why do I have to love this sport so much AND be from WNY?! Loving pro sports and rooting for your local team in WNY is just a terrible combo.

Not all players and people are like that, some can stand up for themselves, and some are more calm. McLeod is not a physical guy, but is he a bad player because of that? Yes, I listed half of the defenders on the list, plus there were others before that. All I was saying is that it would be good for the GM to do his job so that Owen Power can grow as a player and maybe as a person.
