That’s still one more than we’ve had for the past dozen years. We literally only have a single NHL quality goalie in our entire organization. We are absolutely screwed baring some kind of biblical miracle.
Progress.

The thing about goalies is that the ones you draft, develop, and plan to be your team's future solution, seldom work out. It is often the guys that are drafted later or acquired as an afterthought that many times end up being the answer. Don't rule out a guy that isn't on your radar, stepping up and solving at least the depth issue. We literally only have a single NHL quality goalie in our entire organization. Well yes, that's what I meant. He created that hole himself.
It all comes down to the offers. If they are only circling to lowball Adams, that isn't a great spot, either.Sure, I'm just saying I'd rather be in the position where everyone is circling you than where we have been, with our players not really being in demand and Adams chasing deals and getting nowhere.
Sabres Getting Unfavorable Trade Offers
Friedman also noted that the Buffalo Sabres are a popular team in terms of teams targeting some of their younger players. Specifically, Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram have been asked about, but the offers aren’t worth listening to and GM Kevyn Adams is telling teams not to waste his time if they don’t have a serious offer ready that would also improve the Sabres.
Friedman writes, “Buffalo GM Kevyn Adams aggressively worked the phones, but made it clear he wouldn’t subtract or ruin chances for a playoff spot.”

Good for Pittsburgh. Ain't helping us any though. Anyone that might theoretically help us has some version of an NMC/NTC, and they are absolutely not leaving Pittsburgh to come here.
Well, I don't expect Malkin to come to us, maybe Rakell or Pettersson. It seems to me that there are no other interesting options for us.Pittsburgh Penguins Contracts, Cap Hits and Salary Cap | Puckpedia

Maybe, maybe not.I do not see Pettersson being a fit. They don't need another LHD.
And I would be surprised if Rakell were the type of winger that Adams was interested in.

Levi needs to be in the minors. This team is gonna ruin him.
I honestly question how much is Adams poor decision making, and how much is Levi quietly insisting he stay up….or else. From the moment he got here (burning a ELC year) it seems as if he’s the one dictating his path to Adams, not the other way around. Losing Levi would be the equivalent of getting zilch, nada for Reinhart. Just surmising here. When you gift kids starting jobs, it's always been. This was illogical from day one. Levi should have started in Rochester. Mickey Mouse franchise
This is ridiculous, Levi can't dictate his way, he has nothing for it. Even if he could theoretically do it when he was in college and Adams was just careful with it, then after he signed his contract, he can't dictate anything. And it's also unlikely that Levi likes to just not play and skate with the team.I honestly question how much is Adams poor decision making, and how much is Levi quietly insisting he stay up….or else. The amount of times this group talks about lack of effort, or defends their lack of effort with "well, we did somethings well", is absolutely INSANE.
He was promised he would go straight to the NHL. That was written about in the media. Fine. We gave him games. He had a typical rookie burst. All bets are off now. He is not ready for the NHL. Easy Hoss. It's no mystery Adams and Pegula worked Levi hard after his junior year to get him to sign to Buffalo. The opportunity to grab the starting job was dangled before him, and he received the max salary, signing bonus, and performance bonuses, while burning a year off his ELC.This is ridiculous, Levi can't dictate his way, he has nothing for it. Honestly Owen Power should sit in the pressbox for the next 3 games.. Everytime I see the replay of the final goal in 2nd period I want to punch more puppies.
