The best way to watch the Sabres is to root for what they’re rooting for. Every game that passes is another day of accrued cap space whether they win or not. Added some much needed extra cap room today! Another win!

Shit…for the first time in over a decade I wish I had season tickets so I could bring a sign with the updated available cap space to every home game. Show my support.

Gonna be thinking about that space a whole lot more when the Tage news comes down. Hoping that the final tally gets a banner when they miss for the 5th straight year under Adams

FWs - lacking a top-6 C and quality scoring winger (cap space won't be used), kids forced into roles they aren't ready for or don't deserve. Any injury to top-6 guys tanks the group.

D-corps - lacking a shutdown guy and/or top-4 RHD, a disjointed group that can't form pairs that make sense. Most cap space spent on any D-corps in the league (35 mil compared to the league avg of 26 mil).

Goalie - wasting Levi to be a back-up NOT getting enough starts in Rochester, lost Reimer like an amateur front office geek.

KA brought a great new attitude and needed change to the morale of the organization, but due to some combination on incompetence and internal budget he can't manage to fix the most glaring roster holes, and actually makes some obviously stupid moves to create more problems.

KA doesn't have the balls to talk about the internal budget? Cool, Botterill may not have been good GM, but at least he acted fairly and according to his conscience.

I can understand that sometimes moves just don't work out but if there was a logic to them well shit happens. My problem is with moves that were so obviously stupid (ex: handling of the goaltending situation) that doing them was an act of malfeasance. Kevyn constantly makes mistakes you would expect from someone totally unqualified to be a GM and that's exactly what he is.

Moves? Really moves? Where are they? This idiot signed Zucker and traded for McLeod when his ass was already in danger. Before that, he did nothing but sell our best players for futures and start another rebuild.

He shit on goalies from the very first year on the job, when Hutton played blind and Ullmark needed help. He let Ullmark go and replaced him with Dell, Anderson (no offense to Andy), Subban and whoever else was there I already forgot. Now he shits on Levi, he's just an idiot, how can you develop your young goalie like that. Dostal is playing, Wolf is playing, Askarov is playing, Walstedt is playing, Levi is not playing, this is just clowning.

Defense. Dahlin has been playing for 6 years with questionable coaches and without a mentor, without help. And some bastards will still accuse him of not being so good, supposedly not being elite. Yes, he played better than Makar and Fox at 22-23 season, and he didn't give up. Even now he plays a lot of minutes, played with an injury, but doesn't give up, scores points, scores goals, plays physically, tries, and the bastards will still be unhappy.

Power came to the league and also didn't get a mentor, the idiot GM didn't think about it, that your second defenseman already needs help, no, why, let him learn on his own. They taught him, f***ing morons.

Byram didn't seem to be needed and it's clearly not his fault that he was traded to us, but he tries, plays, even if they are not very suitable to play with Dahlin in the same pair, but they have no choice, they play, sometimes too much.

I won't even shit on Jokiharju, even though I don't like this player, it's also not his fault that he is given such a role.

We have kids playing in attack, should we add a top 6 F? Why, let 19-year-old Benson carry the second line, let drunk Quinn play, Cozens, who simply lacks an IQ.

Kevyn Adams is a terrible GM who doesn't understand a damn thing about this job. We don't even know what decisions he made, maybe Karmanos advised him to sign Zucker and trade for McLeod, he won't say.

I’m certainly no Adams fan but I really like the guys he brought in this off season — Zucker, McLeod, Lafferty, Malenstyn, Gilbert, etc. Buying out Skinner was necessary. When the team executes Ruff’s system they’re competitive as hell.

So yeah, the Habs game was a giant shit show. Some things went right, many things wrong. Quinn regressed, Power again was tentative and can’t win any battles, Zucker was conspicuously quiet, UPL seemed fatigued, injuries, dumb officiating, dumber penalties, and so on.

Not throwing in the towel even if Tage is out.

And yet, those decent moves were easily offset by other stupid moves. The Skinner buy-out might be viewed as necessary, but it's not a move that can help the roster much in a tangible way. Think how Zucker or any other guy like him won't be on the roster next season because the buy-out penalty eats that cap space. The roster is going to keep being full of kids, keep being defensively inept because of it, and keep being short a 2nd line because KA decided ahead of time who's worth keeping regardless of what happens on the ice.

What difference does it make who he brought in, if it matters who he didn't bring in over the years. Look at what Zito did, or at least Fitzgerald, and look at what Adams did. It will immediately become clear who is the NHL GM and who is a crook and a hanger-on to the owner.

He did what he should have done 4 years ago (except getting an experienced goalie+defensive mentor).

Not dwelling on past mistakes. I just want some playoff hockey this season and I think our roster composition makes that goal achievable.

You’re talking to a guy who wanted Adams fired this offseason. Not a fan. But it’s still his best offseason to date, which represents a pretty low hurdle to clear.

I think we can still do this (playoffs), even if the roster holes don’t get filled. It certainly won't be easy, or pretty.

Fans are desperate for any level of success (ie just making the playoffs), but the goals of the organization should not be to cycle in just enough young talent to stay on a cap budget and get run over in the 1st rd.

Can’t wait to get run over in the 1st round. We can only dream of getting run over in the fist round. Been waiting 14 years to get run over in the 1st round. 😂

I don't blame you for thinking that way, but that's not what the organization should be settling for. They'd be lucky to get that far right now, and can't possibly hope for anything better out of how KA is managing the roster, this year or beyond.

We as fans suffer for 14 years, and the clown who owns this thing enjoys a 300% return on his investment without any post season appearances. There is no justice in this world.

I see Kakkonen is on waivers. Would he make a good backup goalie so Levi can get some games played in Rochester?
Maybe if Adams didn’t utterly botch the Reinhart extension we wouldn’t be heading into another year of catering to the fickle demands of Devon Levi. And by the time he emerges as a steady goalie he’ll demand a trade so there’s that.

Okay here I am bitching about the past after saying I’m not interested in the past. 😂

We literally only have a single NHL quality goalie in our entire organization. We are absolutely screwed baring some kind of biblical miracle.
