The 2024-2025 Roster Thread

I can’t help but think that maybe this was Rutherford’s strategy and Miller will ultimately be the one traded.

I have a hard time believing Kevyn Adams could pull off an Elias Pettersson trade anyway. He seems too gun shy to pull off a big deal like that.
He can say that it would affect the canucks but that doesn't make it so and is a stupid comment to make.

Airing your dirty laundry
media constantly asking
EP playing at a 3C level

Who is going to believe the clownshow being played out in the media wont effect the team? He is just playing damage control.

That being said, I have being saying for a week Vancouver is playing the media and other teams. If it is as bad as Vancouver makes it out to be you pull the trigger on a trade already.

I mean, they’ve won three in a row. Which is slightly better than the 8 straight losses palm trees and taxes speech got.

Beware what you wish for. It seems obvious that Miller has a nasty streak to him, but it is also quite possible that EP40 is just as much locker room poison as well. Early in his career, he was interviewed with Brock Boeser for some kind of “fun” content and was unbelievably nasty towards Boeser. I didn't understand why it was posted at all. It made EP40 look like a mean/nasty individual. I felt dirty just watching it.

He's had weird interactions with journalists as well. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive, and he's a fantastic guy in private and a great teammate. He's certainly a very good and intelligent hockey player.

I don't remember any rumors that Pettersson is toxic, maybe he's a bit of a peculiar as a person, but I read on the Canucks boards that he got along great with everyone. On the other hand, Miller is kind of a known bully, that's his character, he wants to win, he yells at everyone, he demands effort, although sometimes he plays very lazy, which seems hypocritical. Miller has a lot more stop signals. Then we have Dahlin and he and Pettersson get along well.

Just collect as many Swedish players as possible. They will start to play for national pride instead of the stench of the Sabres crest and terrible ownership/management. It's worth a try because nothing else works.

Problem is the Swedish national team does not like the national blue jerseys. Bad luck and that's what the Sabres play in half the time.

Part of me wants to see how he performs with the Sabres before we trade him. He is having another good season in Rochester.

16 goals and 23 points in the 24 games since his 6:29 against the Sharks back in November. I suppose if they have a scoring winger go down, I could see him getting a look but I'm expecting him to be part of whatever trade(s) they make to shape their roster more than I expect him to get a reward for how he's playing.

I think if you can get a good player to improve the roster here and now and they ask you for Rosen, you do it. It doesn't mean we should just go and trade Rosen anywhere for anything right now, but it's hard to find a place for him unless we trade Peterka/Quinn in some other deal and you can give Rosen a chance to replace one of them, but on the other hand we still lack proven players and vets and we definitely shouldn't go into next season with Rosen in the top 9 if we don't even know if he'll be good in the NHL.

I know we don’t do things but maybe they’d take a flyer on this. Not saying he’s good…but we’re playing Brysons and Jokers out there and the latter is likely moved out soon. And he is a Swedish D from the same draft as Dahlin who would obviously be very familiar with him. Most importantly…he makes very little money and is an RFA after this year so you can control all your options.

His metrics on a much better team are astonishingly bad.

Even if Florida waived him... well, we can always try, but I doubt it. Brannstrom was on waivers not long ago and there was no interest either. Although Boqvist is right-handed and I would even give him a chance than continue to watch Jokiharju and Bryson, who will leave in a few months.

Adam Boqvist waived again. Not the guy Buffalo needs but right handed defenseman is worth to see if Dahlin can help him since they are both swedes.

His contract is league minimum so low risk. The shininess of him being the 8th overall is what attracts me but potential has dwindled

Meh move but it gives us something new. My guess is he goes back to Sweden.

never shouldve drafted him. If we can sell high on him I'd be ecstatic. I have next to zero faith in him being an impact player.

I'd just as soon finally give Johnson his fair chance. Komarov and Novikov have some around nicely. Worst case just play Gilbert.

If we claim him and just finally waive Bryson off into the sunset then...sure. Bout' time.

Thats how I look at it. I don't think Boqvist blocks any prospects and I am sick of watching Bryson get caved in and provide zero offense.

This organization seems to not want to give Johnson a chance(YET)

I think Boqvist clears and goes back to Sweden in the off season. I just like it will give me someone new to watch in a sabres uniform and there is not much else to look forward to.

If I were Johnson I would have already requested a trade, seriously, the guy will soon be 24 years old and he hasn’t really seen the NHL consistently and we continue to play with marginal defensemen, there are teams that would probably give him a better chance.

Y'all should dig into how shit Boqvist has been on a much better team before thinking he'd be some revelation on Buffalo. If he was even remotely passable, it would likely show up in *something* statistically but there is nothing there. And watching some Panther games due to proximity, he's a trainwreck. It doesn't matter that he's a right hand shot.

Bryson must have compromising pictures of Adams.

I feel bad for Johnson. I didn't think he looked bad last year.

Well, we might give Metsa a chance, if only he had an NHL contract. :naughty:
