According to the Abbotsford Canucks colorful broadcaster Brandon Astle, "you can fry an egg off the end of Klimovich's stick these days."

I let my AHL Network TV pass lapse, so I only catch the highlights now. So I defer to those who have the TV package on Flow Sports; or attend games in person, but what do you make of Klimovich?

Is he just a kid who's finally figured out how to score in a lesser league like the AHL; or does he have an real NHL potential for the parent Canucks?

I haven't watched as much as I'd like, but he seems like a guy that goes on incredible hot streaks and then falls off a cliff without much warning. If he even had 20% more consistency, I'd think he could have a shot, but until he shows that it's tough to see him as more than a streaky AHL scorer.
 
It’s really really promising to see Romani get his game together and is producing office at a high rate especially with the game on the line these last few weeks .

I was quite worried , but he missed so much time early in the season due too the injury he got but it’s nice to see him finally starting to show his offensive flare again and looking forward to watch the Colts make a deep placeoff push .

I would absolutely sign this guy to an ELC

I'm expecting them to sign him and frankly I wouldn't mind if they moved off Klimovich as he has "European career guy" written all over him.

I would give Klimovich a shot at a bottom 6 role next season , he is finding his scoring touch finally and is still only 22 years old and he simply took a lot longer to develop then I think any of us would have liked .And we really don’t have anything left on the farm in regards to an NHL future except Raty and Kudryavstev TBH

We aren’t expecting him to be like a top 6 forward but if he can provide offence in the bottom 6 on a cheap contract I’m game

I’m excited to see Romani , Alriksson and Mynio on the farm next season ,

Fully expect the moment Willander signs he will be playing in the top 4 after a few practices with the Canucks

I feel pretty sure that the Canucks will permit Wilander to burn off one full year of his ELC eligibility this season. So that means he'll have to play some games for the Canucks down the stretch.

So even though they're in a daily struggle just to make the playoffs--they're still going to want to find out where Wilander is at before the end of the season. And throwing him into the breach in the middle of these intense March-April games, will give them a pretty clear idea of where he might slot in next season.

The guy came to us with no real hockey schooling. Has been (and remains) one of our biggest Projects.
Finally, this season, the penny seems to be dropping. I am now cautiously optimistic about him having a NHL career of some sort.
It may be that his ship has sailed in terms of developing a high end hockey IQ... the lack of fundamentals instilled from the start might be insurmountable. But, in the right surroundings and right deployment, he could still be a big body with the ability to score in batches.
Next season, it's going to be all about building on what he has shown this year and most importantly, learning to be consistent.
Giving up on him now, just as he's beginning to show some promise, would be really short-sighted, IMHO.

Celebrini Dreams Of Playing With Younger Brother For Sharks

San Jose Sharks star rookie Macklin Celebrini said he saw his younger brother RJ's unreal goal on instagram.

San Jose Sharks standout rookie Macklin Celebrini is the middle child and has two brothers, one older and one younger.

The older Brother, Aiden, was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the 6th round of the 2023 NHL Draft. Macklin and Aiden played together at Boston University last season. Macklin told SHD that Aiden doesn’t intend to sign with Vancouver during the 2025 offseason as he will stay in school.

“He’s developed really well. He’s a defensive defenseman, lockdown, and he’s good at what he does,” Celebrini said about Aiden.

While it is unlikely that Aiden and Macklin will play on the same team in the NHL, RJ still has a chance to join his family.

“That’s what we are all dreaming of,” Celebrini said.

Growing up in Vancouver, the Celebrini family were Canucks fans, so naturally, they watched the Sedin twins have magical chemistry.

Yeah, makes sense to keep seasoning in college. Although I wonder how much ice time he'll really get there, but oh well.

Keep him in the system to help lure Macklin here! ;)

he should get a lot. bu are losing enghum and page for sure, probably willander and hutson and maybe maccarthy and boumedienne. they only have celebrini and frechette after that and their 2025 recruiting class is pretty good but also very young. i don't think celebrini is much of a prospect but he should get top six ice time and maybe even top four depending on exactly who sticks around

The Sharks actually look like they're on the right track, with some nice-up-and coming pieces to surround Macklin Celebrini.

The Hawks on the other hand with Connor Bedard--are basically nowhere. So him wanting out of that #$%#-show is far more likely.

But in the history of the NHL draft, when will it ever happen again--that two kids who grew up in North Van and were lifelong Canuck fans, getting drafted 'first overall' in consecutive seasons?

My guess is probably 'never'. And maybe both guys, when they hit the UFA market in their mid- to late 20's might want to 'come home' to finish their careers. It's something for Canuck fans to cling to.

The black Hawks also have a very good selection of younger players much like San Jose, no idea why you are hinting otherwise.

Given the Canucks pipeline and probability that both San Jose and Chicago will be much better teams when they come up for UFA this seems like a pipe dream right?

It’s amazing how the vibes are so different for the Sharks and Blackhawks. They are equally shit but everyone is fairly optimistic about the Sharks and not with the Blackhawks.

I wonder what we could get for Aiden if we traded him to the Sharks. He would love to be with his brother I suspect. It doesn't sound like he is likely to sign here, since our D seems to be in pretty good shape. Then again if he isn't likely to make a big club, playing in abby for a few years would probably be his first choice of place to play in the minors.
