It's reasonable to expect a fourth-rounder to be a sole point-per-game scorer; their entire team doesn't have a single ppg player! what a bust

forgot /s
It's reasonable to expect a fourth rounder never to become even an AHLer, much less a good bet to make the big club. If Alriksson is going to justify expectations that he'll outperform his draft status, he needs to start producing points.

But he's never going to be a productive offensive guy
a pure 4th liner at best!

Obviously there are more than just top flight offensive players amongst prospects. But there is a lot of evidence to support the fact that players - especially forwards - who make the NHL usually have at least one season of point per game plus offensive prowess in junior ranks. There will always be outliers, and Alriksson’s physical tool box will certainly see him get some opportunities and looks, but the promise there certainly will magnify if he can be a consistent top offensive player at the junior level.

Guelph getting shut out today so far in the 3rd. Such a different game against the London knights... such a dull game. The top line with Alrikkson that they are now calling the LAN LINE not looking connected this game.

Could have been a highlight goal by Alriksson when he when around one player and split the defense but alas, couldn't pick the corner.

Sam Cosentino's fall rankings are out on Sportsnet for the 2025 entry draft.

Assuming the Canucks are good enough to be drafting anywhere from 23-28 in the first round, there are some interesting players, some with WHL connections.

Beginning at #23, there's Justin Charbonneau out of the QMJHL; Adam Benak, a tiny center out of Youngstown in the USHL; Lyndon Lakovic, a big 6'4" left winger from the Moose Jaw Warriors; Cameron Reid, a Kitchener Rangers d-man; and of course Cameron Schmidt, an undersized winger from the Vancouver Giants, who's torching the WHL the moment.

And for interests sake.....Nathan Behn, a right wingers from the Kamloops Blazers is the 28th ranked prospect, according to Cosentino.

Know next to nothing about these guys.....but maybe regular WHL watchers can enlighten me. Any interest from the Canucks in some of the local kids? Or are they likely to deal their first rounder once again?

I gave you a like, but I would have prefaced what you said with "probably". His strange skillset and size says he has a real chance at being an outlier.

Regardless of the typo, what was the intent of the comment? Could not decipher it.
oh ok .. i guess that needs explaining. subscribed means, bought on to your idea, subscribing to wait for updates to see it actually unfold. something like that.

Everyone talks about his size but if he can't get it done in the OHL in his age 19 season what exactly are his pro prospects?

Basically a longshot and if he was on another teams pipeline we would just dismiss him as such.

Continuously reading Arliksson, not a ppg = bust! will be exhausting for the next three years....unless he is traded.
A 4th round pick who doesn't make it isn't a bust. A bust has to be a pick that doesn't meet expectations.

I'm tired of posts saying that Alriksson is going to be a force in the NHL. I sure hope that happens, but it's at best an odd evaluation when he's in his D2 season, turns 20 in three months, and he isn't yet a force in the OHL.
