When you're gifted Crosby 2.0 I think it changes the organizations entire philosophy and outlook immediately.
I wouldn't say they were gifted Bedard like Pittsburgh was with Crosby. They definitely put themselves in a good position to get him. But it's not just that. Moore at 19, Korchinski and Nazar last year, the willingness to take on cap dumps, the willingness to trade roster players. They have 14 picks in the first 2 rounds from 23-25. They admitted the reality of their situation and took decisive action. And it looks like it's working.

Andrew Gibson was rated late 2nd to mid 3rd. I haven't done a deep dive on the guy yet but Eliteprospects had him at #77.

On a score of 1 to 9 here are his scores (5 being "NHL average")
4.5 skating
4.5 shooting
5 passing
4 puckhandling
5 hockey sense
6 physical

Advanced analytics that don't look too great.

A goalie and another defenseman..?

Is our severe lack of goal scoring ever going to be addressed?
We have several forwards in the system. You are not going to find immediate solution to the goalscoring unless you pick Bedard in this draft.

We have a gaping hole on right side on defense.

I just don't think this org prioritizes keeping solid contact with our college goalie prospects. Losing Petruzelli and Mastrosimone were both completely unforced errors on our part. What's going to be different about Augustine?

Looked good at the U18s but shrug
